Pete loves his Bronco rejects at OC. But if McDaniels is the guy - I love it provided he doesn't have personnel input.. because I could see that fucker trading Earl Thomas for a 5th rounder or something.
Seahawks fire offensive coordinator Bates
The Seahawks have fired offensive coordinator Jeremy Bates after one season with the team.
The team confirmed the firing after an initial report by NFL Network.
The Seahawks had the 28th-ranked offense this season.
They were 31st in rushing, averaging just 89 yards per game. Only the Indianapolis Colts had a weaker running game.
After sneaking into the playoffs with a 7-9 record, the offense came alive against the New Orleans Saints in the wild card round.
Matt Hasselbeck threw for 272 yards and four touchdowns and running back Marshawn Lynch ran for 131 yards and another score in the dramatic 41-36 win.
But the Chicago Bears stifled that attack Sunday, allowing just 276 yards, including 34 yards rushing. John Ryan punted nine times in a 35-24 loss.
Bates came to Seattle from USC with head coach Pete Carroll. Before serving as the Trojans offensive coordinator in Carroll's final season at USC, Bates was with Denver from 2006-08. Bates was Jay Cutler's quarterback coach in 2008 when Cutler was a Pro Bowl selection.
His departure is likely the first move in an overhaul of the offense that could include a new starting quarterback next season.

Seahawks have been talking with former Broncos HC Josh McDaniels since Monday. Interesting.
