Bills acquired QB Tarvaris Jackson from the Seahawks in exchange for a late-round draft pick in 2013.

Seattle did a nice job to get anything for Jackson, who would have been cut before the season with a $4 million salary. Jackson, 29, started 14 games last season, completing 60.2 percent of his passes for 3,091 yards (6.9 YPA), 14 touchdowns, and 13 interceptions. He also rushed for a score, but fumbled nine times, losing five. In Buffalo, Jackson should immediately slide in as Ryan Fitzpatrick's backup while learning Chan Gailey's offense on the fly. Vince Young was horrific in preseason action, and Tyler Thigpen will be released.

I'm trying to figure out why Buffalo would do this. I take it they just want a more quality/experienced backup, but it still makes little sense, because Jackson doesn't see himself as a backup. I guess Vince Young will be the 3rd QB? What a fall.
 
4 million seems like an awful lot for a backup but their backups were absolute shit. T-Jack is definitely an upgrade but still. Anyways whats the point of having VY as your number 3, don't most teams use that spot for a young developmental type QB? I know Thiggy will be released but you might as well add VY in that group as well imo.

He'll be cut.
 
Supposedly TJack was allowed to give input on where he would be traded.

I imagine he feels he has a chance to become a starter with the Bills.

He actually played pretty well last year, especially since he played most of last season with a pectoral strain.
 
If VY doesn't get cut after asking for it to be done (think he will), I don't see him playing Football......ego is too big.
 
I wonder who the next team to take a run at Vince Young would be.

Considering the big money given to Fitzpatrick, I am surprised that Jackson would want to be traded there. I think Arizona would have been a better bet, considering Kolb just looks awful, and I am not sure how impressive Skelton is, even after finishing 7-2 as the starter last season.

Let the search for a new team begin for VY.....

The Buffalo Bills made Vince Young among their Monday roster cuts, the quarterback announced on Twitter.

Young, the third overall pick in the 2006 draft by the Tennessee Titans, was trying to stick with the Bills, his third NFL team, as the backup to Ryan Fitzpatrick. Those plans were officially dashed by Buffalo's trade for former Seattle Seahawks starter Tarvaris Jackson on Sunday.

"I want to thank the Bills organization for the opportunity and wish the organization and my teammates good luck this season," Young (@VinceYoung) tweeted.

Even before Jackson's arrival, Young failed to separate himself from Tyler Thigpen in the race to become the backup. Although Young was an intriguing add when the Bills signed him to a one-year deal in May, he struggled to fit into coach Chan Gailey's offense.

Now it will be difficult for Young, who served as Michael Vick's backup with the Philadelphia Eagles last season, to latch on to a fourth team. Despite his impressive record as a starter in five with Tennessee (30-17), it's unlikely he'll get another real crack to be a No. 1 in the league.

If Seattle hadn't wet themselves over Matt Flynn's 8 quarters of meaningless football, they could have saved themselves some money and simply kept Jackson around as the backup.

Pete Carroll is lost, I think Seattle will be spinning their wheels until his time is up.
