I wish I was Scrubs
At first, when I started playing the game, I didn't mind it so much. Oh, I got 6 points for making a tackle for loss? ... ok, whatever. Hey look, I got 5 points for taking a knee at the end of the game... alright. It was simple little stuff that I didn't really mind. But since then, I've noticed some odd things.
I set up for a 3rd and long on defense. I set my guys to pass defense and my safety knocks down the pass. I get a few little points for "Defend the Pass" or whatever. Well, same thing happens again later that game with the exact same scenario, this time, no bonus. Ok, so it must be only once a game, right? Nope, I get the points again in the 4th quarter, it is just completely inconsistent.
And don't get me started on the stupid damn sportsmanship crap. It is 4th and inches on the 35 and under Ask Corso, he says to go for it. I select a dive play he had picked and what happens? -10 points for going for it on fourth. If I had selected to go for it on 4th and 10, I can see that, but 4th and inches is a bad thing? Well, I get past it and in the 3rd quarter, I am up by 30. It is 3rd and 7 and I'm going to run the ball, but the defense has 9 in the box. I audible to a quick pass, which nets me a first down. What happens? -50 for running up the score! I didn't even go for a touchdown, but I get -50?
For something that they kept going on and on about, this feature is a kick in the balls. Why even bring this shit up if it is sketchy at best with no set guidelines?
