Good point by luchablog that never occured to me. WWE basically shitting on tradition by releasing his real name. What a trainwreck this whole situation is. Just cut the bum and bring in La Sombra already (actually, please don't, leave La Sombra alone).

Also, Sin Cara's fault for his name being released...don't dabble in the Pacquiao jungle drugs and you won't get busted.

He's different and fresh, he's good to me. The not talking thing is shit, but there are ways to work around that (I assume).

The fire he showed in the ladder match (think larry mentioned it in the other thread) was great...course it led to him being smashed, but still.

That stuff just doesn't translate to the US.

You know what fire gets a crowd going...the kind CM Punk showed last night. THAT gets over.

The only followers of Sin Cara are kids right now because he's basically a walking cartoon character with his flippy spots and mask. even the way he is portrayed is very cartoon character-ish. The mood lighting, his promo pictures, etc. Everything about him says "i'm a flippy spot monkey cartoon character"...which is fine, but you need to start him off at the bottom and move him up slow...he needs to be wrestling other flippy spot monkeys and low end wrestlers to get him over.

He needed time to get acclimated to the WWE style, that is for sure. He jumped right in and has been very weak, IMO.

The fact that he hasn't been put in an actual program yet is very telling.

Compared to expectations, sure.

If nothing else, hopefully during his 30 days off, he can keep working out down in Florida.
 
He's been very weak, not even to expectations...he's worse off than Mark Henry right now. Even a contemporary like Evan Bourne (young flippy bastard) is just outclassing him. Even in the MitB match, outside of taking the ridiculous power slam, I was more entertained by Justin Gabriel and Heath Slater. That 450 splash that Gabriel had in the small space was flawless.

I'm not saying all is lost, but I don't think he lasts in the WWE very long. Said so just as he was signed.

You can't replicate Rey Mysterio Jr. Not in the WWE Universe, anyway.

Heath Slater did nothing...except botch that dangerous looking spot where they tried to flip him off the ladder lol.

Gabriel's 450 was awesome, sucks he has no charisma so they won't push him. :(

Exactly.

Also had a flippy do da in the middle of the match. The missed flip the ladder spot wasn't his fault...the two big guys couldn't hold his weight up on the ladder.

-He's believed to have failed a steroid test in June.

Bourne is light years ahead of Sin Cara. I've seen Matt Sydal have amazing american style matches, and I've seen Mistico have pretty good lucha matches. I know Bourne can run with the ball, I have zero doubt. Sin Cara, and this is not his fault but its a fact, has no track record working a give and take american match. And Bourne he was just as over as Sin Cara before they jobbed him.

Keep in mind, Rey had years of working american matches before he came to the WWE. Plus, he was twice the worker Sin Cara was at the same stage. Not even close. Rey was one of a kind when he broke in. Plenty of guys fly like Mistico. I warned everyone when he was signed that Mistico was good for a few awesome graceful looking highspots per match, but was not a fantastic worker. And we've dealt with the charisma issue. Perro Sr was amonster draw in Mexico, think he would have made it here? Different cultures, doesn't always translate. Jeff Hardy flopped in Japan.

If they are determined to get him over, they will find a way though. Depends who is behind him, and it looks like Vince and HHH are, so yeah.
 
Shit, what does this mean for Averno?

Dude does a rush job and loses his mask, and now he may not even have a spot in the WWE.

I feel terrible for the guy.

Assume he's finishing up with them before eventually heading to WWE? But if there's no Sin Cara, there really is no point in Averno going there, is there?

Yeah, that's what I'm saying, he's really getting fucked here. Remember, he basically held them up to drop the mask, or he was going to drop it for the highest indy bidder. There could be bad blood, and I'm sure he gave notice by now.

On the flip side, he's been awesome without the mask. I've never been more wrong. I thought he would bomb.
