i want to shake his hand.....i live a few minutes from the vcu campus. they have flags everywhere downtown.
 
heard on radio 2 guys out of the million entries one spn got the final 4 correct.

crazy sht. those guys have to VCU fans and just picked them to win everything right?
 
Looking at the top brackets is hilarious.

The guy in first didn't even set his tiebreaker for the champ game. Pretty obvious he wasn't taking it seriously at all and just happened to be the guy who's whacky picks were somehow correct.

Just goes to show how silly brackets are overall.

That's were I differ....it doesn't mean that a team should have been in, it just means the team got hot at the right time. They are supposed to pick them for what they have done up to that point, not what they can do should they get hot in the Tourney. I have no idea how "good" VCU was before The Big Dance, but if their resume didn't warrant them getting into it, this doesn't change that...just means they made everything out of the chance given to them.

I saw on the web somewhere that there were 2 people out of the 5.9 million brackets entered on ESPN.com that had the correct Final Four. What a crazy year for college hoops!

But since their is no "defined" resume criteria for mid-majors, much of what is decided is based on speculation and how "good" a team is. And, IMO, they should probably seed the teams based on how they will do in the tournament. Its amazing to me that UNC and Butler had nearly identical seasons in that they struggled early in the year, did well late in the year, and ended up winning their conference. Butler made the title game last year, and all they got was an EIGHT seed this year? While UNC got a #2 seed?? Its somewhat surprising that Butler made the Final Four, but not all that surprising. Its just that they were seeded so low....Villanova was terrible at the end of the year and they were a NINE seed!

Maybe but didn't they lose their best player and just based on conference....it sucks for them but they still play in the Horizon. Doesn't always work out, just look at the Big East but the ACC was considered down this year yet they had a good run in the Tourney.
