Even you have to admit - going FieldTurf sucks.

This was an opportunity for the Cowgirls to play on grass. They should have pulled an Arizona or Houston with their stadium.

It's such a nice stadium otherwise ... though I'm sure I'll learn to hate it.

The Linc is a pretty solid stadium. Clearly an upgrade over the Vet (though teams feared the Vet, not so sure they fear The Linc).

Agreed. I play on fieldturf weekly and I fucking hate it. My knees/ankles are killing me by the time I'm done.

Thats 1-2 million saved the next decade.

The NFL is pretty much making teams that use the stadiums for concerts, etc. use field turf.

Once a Northern tier field gets out of shape (witness Gillette a few years back) it is done for the season.
Not that Dallas is a Northern tier team but that place will be stacked with concerts, bull riding, rodeos and MONSTER TRUCKS , those events RUIN grass

JJ has 4 seperate surfaces for the field.

One for college/HS games

One for soccer matches

One for special events (like the aforementioned rodeos)

And obviously, the Cowboys home field

Field turf is amazing, i hated playing on grass. When you get tackled or tackle, it would suck. I hardly ever got turf burns, so maybe thats why i prefer it. Oh, and the fact that my school has a turf field and i don't have much say to where i want to play on...

Field in Houston is not removable. Only sunlight that grass gets is via the open roof.

And Cowboys Stadium is not like that giant toaster in the middle of the desert in that it was built into the ground, not on it.

I'd estimate the field is a good 50 feet below street level.
