After reading an article on WWTDD, I thought it would be interesting to document the fall from grace of super-director M. Night Shyamalan. This guy started out so strong and then declined faster than the popularity of the WNBA. According to Rotten Tomato:

Personally, I loved Unbreakable and The Village. I went to the theater to see Signs and enjoyed it, too. I turned off Lady in the Water. I was so pumped for The Happening, but it failed. Does this mean good trailers = big payoffs? again...

I've been baffled as well by this poser. I thought "Signs" was his lone attempt to make an actual movie. It was a different movie, the pacing was different, but I thought it was interesting. I can also see why people wouldn't like it. "The Sixth Sense" also held my interest, although looking back on it you can see it clearly wasn't deserving of the hype. I have yet to understand the point of "Unbreakable". It was a complete waste of time, IMO. I actually saw "The Village" and "Lady in the Water" during long plane flights, and they were two of the worst movies I have ever seen.
 
Unbreakable was a sweet superhero movie that you never knew was one. I wish we wold have gotten the rest of that story.
 
saying he stole sixth sense is way to strong. just about everything u see and hear is taken from something else. Some cover that by calling it inspired, other get sued and pay for actually stealing the idea. He took a story that nobody ever cared about or even saw and turned it into a great film.

i enjoyed the village and signs. I havnt seen any of his other work because its all niche films and now you know a twist will always be coming so u look for it
 
Personally, I thought Unbreakable was better than Signs. Sixth Sense was really good, stolen idea or not. Everything else he's made after Unbreakable was crap. The Village was terrible, I stopped watching Lady in the Water 30 minutes in, The Happening may be the worst movie I have ever seen. The Last Airbender, well, I havent seen it, dont plan on it either. If its gotten worse reviews than The Happy-Happs, odds are theyd have to pay me to go see it.

QFT. stir of echoes is a movie i have on my mantle, which is right up there with The Professional as my (tied, really) favorite movie to bust out on somebody with the "you havent seen this? YOU HAVE TO"
 
signs was a good movie, the village had a go story and some decent tension and pacing until the ending, they shouldve just ended it with the monster killing the blind girl instead
