Avatar... apparently blue people making whoopee under some weird tree is the most appealing movie scene to people who download torrents. Kinda surprised at the list.

That's what I don't get... people loved that movie so much that they saw it in theaters, only to come home and download it after? I mean I download lots of movies that I've already seen, but I'm not somebody who would go to the movie theater to watch it, and if I did I would buy the Blu-Ray to support the movie makers when it comes out, if I liked a movie that much.

Amazing achievement in visuals and the way movies are made but the storyline was generic, nothing special.

I didn't think the movie's visuals were all that great. Strike me dead, I guess. I felt like I was watching a 3 hour video game cutscene.

The only time id ever see this Blue Monkey bullshit is if it was free to watch somewhere. Maybe a lot of other people feel the same way, maybe they liked it so much they got a bootleg. I did that with episode 3.

Like was mentioned the entire purpose of the movie was to see it on Imax in 3D. Even standard watching dumbed down the ability of the movie to impress.

Watching that on some garbage divx on your laptop ? You should have your eyes revoked.

i saw it "once". 3 hours is too long.....it took me 3 days to watch the whole movie. it was long and boring to me.

Its "ok"...it is a movie with a dumbed down, re-hashed plot, because the film's focus is the visuals. You can't have a movie with these state of the art, never before seen visuals and then have a convoluted plot...it wouldn't appeal to the masses, which is what this film needed to do so it could justify the ridiculous budget and investment into this technology.

If you want to see ridiculous visuals that are state of the art and ground breaking, you see Avatar and come away pretty impressed. That is why you need to see it in 3D or IMAX 3D. If you are watching it in 2D, its your typical summer blockbuster flick.

Avatar looked incredibly sappy to me from the commercials, no way i would go see it in theatres. I was bored one day and DLed the torrents and then enjoyed the movie. It was in 720p and looked pretty decent.
