Fuck it, I'm just going to make my own thread. It will barely be used, but whatever.

Its hard as hell to keep up with, just because I'm on the East Coast and they don't put their shit up for free and torrents aren't easy to come by as there aren't too many seeders. But, if you can buy DVDs, do it. If you can find the one torrent that might be seeded by 10 people, do it.

Anyway, I got a stack of shows to go through...so, I'm going to go through them and post REVIEWZ in this very thread.

Last time, on PWG...

Adam Cole beat Michael Elgin @ BOLA 2012, stole Kevin Steen's PWG Title. Super heel mode.
Michael Elgin was a monster @ Failure to Communicate and had an awesome 2012 in PWG.
The Young Bucks are awesome, so are the Super Smash Bros...but you already knew that.

We pick up with the first show of the Observer Calendar 2013...

This was the last show of 2012 for PWG, and the first for the 2013 Observer Calendar. The only match that was advertised for this one, was the main event, which would see the 2012 Battle of Los Angeles Winner, Adam Cole take on Kevin Steen for the PWG Title.

The Young Bucks v. DojoBros - Great Opener. Really fun, fast paced, hard hitting tag match. Crowd, as always, hot hot hot. DojoBros win. A very strong, high end 3-star type.

Sami Callihan v. Drake Younger - As you'd expect, its a bit of a brawl, a bit of a hardcore match. It was actually pretty decent. Sami wins with the Stretch Muffler.

Adam Cole walks out with the PWG Title and has a promo sets up the main event with Kevin Steen but now it'll be GUERRILLA WARFARE...zOMG!

Super Smash Bros v. RockNES Monsters - SSB is the champs at this point, but had been gone for a while. So, this is their return and they are right back in the groove they were in when they left. Match lulls a little bit in the middle but in typical SSB fashion picks up strong toward the end. SSB wins with the Fatality. High end 3-star type.

Joey Ryan v. Scorpio Sky - This would be Joey Ryan's last match in PWG before he would go to TNA. Gets a ton of love from the PWG crowd. The crowd lays into Scorpio Sky chanting HAROOOOLD, HAROOOOOOOLD, lulz all around. Anyway, Scorpio Sky wins...no one cares, but the crowd gives Joey rounds of love.

SPEECH, SPEECH, SPEECH!!

Brian Cage v. B-Boy v. TJ Perkins v. Willie Mack - Brian Cage is looking at swole as ever. He eats horse meat for fucks sake. This match is your token wild four way where everyone gets some fun shit in. Big Willie wins. Match was fun but alright.

El Generico v. Rich Swann - I can't recall the last time El Generico/Sami Zayn had anything that would register as boring or bad. This match starts off slow, but the last half of the match is bananerz. Orange Crush by Generico FTW.

SSB v. DojoBros - These boys are doing doubles tonight. Excaliber keeps reinforcing that this is non-title...soooo, I'm going to guess the DojoBros win this one. How underrated is Stupefied, btw? This guy can just go, go, go. He can go 15 minutes, full speed, big move after flippy flip over and over. Stupefied is absolutely destroyed during the last three minutes of this match...and yup...DojoBros win. Really good tag team match. High three, low four star type match.

Kevin Steen (c) v. Adam Cole - Adam Cole has been on fire in PWG. Kevin Steen has had the belt for most of the past two years. Cole won BOLA 2012 and stole the title from Steen at the end of Night 2. They feudin', so, you know this is gon' b gud. Earlier in the night they made this one Guerrilla Warfare. So, now it'll be bananas. This match is wild. Steen, near the end of the match match cradle suplexes Cole through a MOUNTAIN OF CHAIRS...OFF THE TOP ROPE! Not as impressive as the Package Piledriver on the LADDER BRIDGE OF DEATH from ROH Final Battle, but, awesome enough. Then Steen SWALLOWS THUMBTACKS...AND SPITS THEM IN COLE'S FACE. Cole reverses and puts Steen into the tacks, Superkicks him in the face, and straight jacket suplex to Steen giving Cole the win in a wild affair. This was a great match. Might be a Top 15'r or even higher by year's end. Easily Top 10 match of the first half of the 2013 Observer Year.

Overall, really fun PPV. No duds in the bunch. Just 2h30m, 8 matches of fun. Super Smash Bros, DojoBros, and Adam Cole are your MVPs.

But seriously, Steen v. Cole will be mandatory viewing by year's end, SSB v. DojoBros was really good and just bell to bell, the whole show was good.

Inner City Machine Guns v. The Young Bucks - YA'LL WANNA SEE A DROP KICK?!!? YEAAAAAAAAHHHH! Sidenote...I am pretty sure Sami Zayn's doppelganger is sitting in the front row. This had super spots EVERYWHERE. Anytime Rich Swann is in an opener, he just gets it. Really strong opener.

Super Smash Brothers v. Unbreakable F'N Machines - I fear for Stupefied's life in this match. SSB is the reigning, defending DDT4 winners and PWG Tag Champs. And, Brian Cage continues to grow at an alarming rate. Yet, its Michael Elgin who Alabama Slams two men at one time. WTF? Anyway, Dos ate four finishers and the Machines win.

Future Shock v. DojoBros - This one drags on quite a bit and seems everlong at nearly 20 minutes. Gets hot toward the end, but ends with #heeltactics by Cole for the win.

Briscoes v. Steenerico - Generico's last night in PWG before he would go to the WWE. Crowd <3's him. Pretty appropriate Steenerico wrestles the Briscoes on Genericos last night. Love the dynamic with Steen and Generico here. This one was getting really good, but ends abruptly with Generico getting the role up for the win.

The Unbreakable F'N Machines v. The Young Bucks - The Machines are now champs after beating SSB. Pretty slow match to start. The Bucks isolate Brian Cage, work on the leg. It would end though, exactly how you'd expect. The Machines destroying The Bucks before the Bucks squeak out a win. Bucks are the new champs and advance to the finals

Steenerico v. Future Shock - This one gets started right away with Steen going after Adam Cole. A short one, but a real good one. Package Piledriver into the BRAINBUSTAAAAA for the win. Worth your time to go see.

B-Boy v. Willie Mack - This one ended up being a pretty good bathroom break match. Nothing special.

Sami Callihan v. Drake Younger - This one is the second of a three match series. Its Submission or Knockout Only. Callihan won @ Mystery Vortex, so, I assume Younger gets the win here, but it should be a slobberknocker. Winner of the series gets a title shot. You know exactly what you're getting with this one. Lots of chair play. An atomic drop on a traffic cone. This one ends up being better than their previous match. The ending is kind of weird, but Younger wins.

Steenerico v. The Young Bucks - This is the finals of the DDT4 tournament. It kicks off immediately. This match is fun as fuck. So good. Rick Knox shenanigans. The Bucks once again get a cheap win. Package Piledriver, rolls into Generico, who gets rolled up for the loss.

Afterward, Generico and Steen hug. Steen speech. Generico speech. The orphans are going to be ok.

This event isn't quite as good as some previous DDT events. But its still a good watch. Not essential, but still good.

The opener and the finals complete with post-match shenanigans are worth watching. Callihan/Younger II is pretty decent too.

Give me a day or two and I'll be all caught up.

But really, PWG doesn't have essential storylines you need to follow. There just isn't a ton of carryover, so its easy to pick up anywhere. They have a show...they have matches...everyone has fun. You can kind of pick it up anywhere.

Only thing I would say is don't start with All Star Weekend or DDT or anything else special for the same reason I tell people not to start puro with Misawa/Kobashi or Tanahashi/Okada because then nothing else can live up.

All-Star Weekend 9 - Night 1

Paul London v. Kevin Steen - We start this one off with Paul London going to the bathroom to fix his hair. Yup. This one looks like it'd be fun to see live, as the first 10 minutes or so of the match is variety show esque with Steen and London just kind of fucking around. For the viewer at home, a bit long for an opener because of it. It gets moving through around the 10m mark. London eventually wins. Its ok.

The Young Bucks v. FIST - Fans are getting into this one early. Booing the fuck out of the Bucks. Cheering Chucky and Gargano. This one should be good. The Bucks bust out every Attitude Era reference possible...Chris Jericho "BABAY!"...Air Guitar...Suck It's...I think I even saw a "Too Sweet" in there. This match got awesome quickly and stayed there. Bucks win. An easy **** for me.

Eddie Edwards v. Jay Lethal - Jay Lethal as Black Machismo is always fantastic...the gimmicks is better than when Lethal is himself. So good. Chain wrestling, chops, kicks kicks kicks, more Macho Man references, and fan participation. Chuck Taylor's commentating during this match has been fantastic, btw. Eddie Edwards wins with the half crab. I enjoyed.

Inner City Machine Guns v. AR Fox and Samuray Del Sol - I expect 4857 flips in this match. Chuck Taylor continues his subtle racism on commentary. This thing goes 500mph the entire time. Ricochet at one point flips from the ring into the ladies bathroom. SRS. This match was fucking wild and awesome. The Guns win via 698 from Ricochet to Del Sol. Way over ****. Bananas.

Trent? v. Roddy Strong - This one was ok. A little long, slow at times.

Future Shock v. The Unbreakable F'N Machines - Brian Cage looking like he's got 2% body fat at 300lbs of muscle. For fucks sake. Anyway...Elgin hits Cole WITH HIS PENIS. This match runs a bit long, but it gets really good by the end where the BIG MOVES and KICKZ get going. Kyle O'Reilly eats 4 or 5 finishers before taking the fall.

Sami Callihan v. Drake Younger - Series is tied 1-1. This one is Guerrilla Warfare rulez. I expect a blood bath. Rick Knox doesn't even get rid of the streamers. Jesus Christ though, about 10 minutes in...Younger is gushing blood from the back of his head. I'm pretty sure there is a chunk of skin removed from where the knot in the back of his head. Damn. Awesome Bomb from the ring, to the outside, through chairs. Yup. Staple gun, stapling money to the cheeks, then the balls, then some tacks. "That money could have been spent on Kevin Steen merch." There is a streamer...soaked in blood, held to Younger's head and Sami dumps salt all over Younger. WTF? Younger wins with the Drake's Landing through a chair and probably tacks. If you like hardcore matches, if you like blood and ridiculousness that are apart of death matches...you'll love it.

Overall, good night of matches...some dragged on a bit though.

PWG All-Star Weekend 9 - Night 2

Jay Lethal v. Willie Mack - Solid base hit opener. Lethal wins with a few Hail To The Kings. Opened hot. Had some fun spots.

FIST v. RockNES Monsters - If Chuck Taylor has nothing, its good comedic timing and a knack for knowing how to play up to an Indy crowd. This ends up being a decent comedy match, but it runs on the long side. FIST wins.

Paul London v. Trent? - I have a feeling this is going to disappoint. Trent has been underwhelming in his Indy run and its been a while since Paul London has had a really good match I've seen. Trent is a heel here, London gets love. Not insulting, but very long and I just wasn't into it. London wins with an SSP.

The Whole Fox'n Machine Guns v. The Unbreakable Fucking Steen Machines - Now we're talking. This has such a great cast of characters. The interaction is great. The clash of styles is really fun. Its like a ROH v. DGUSA match. The whole dicotemy makes this match great. You got these big dudes that are some of the best power workers in the 'States and you got some of the best high flyers in the 'States. The big dudes have uncanny endurance and can keep up with the small guys. Anyway, also never underrated is Chuck Taylor's subtle racism during black guy matches as well as making fun of Canadians. This one will run about a half an hour and the first 10 minutes or so has a lot of horseplay, but its not detrimental, but the last 15 minutes or so are madness. The crowd absolutely loves it. AR Fox eats 7 or 8 finishers and signatures to give the Unbreakable Fucking Steen Machines the win. Standing ovation for AR Fox at the end of this one. Way over **** from me on this one.

TJ Perkins v. Samuray Del Sol - This is a post-Intermission match. Well placed, for sure. This one is everything you'd think it'd be. Fast, smooth, and solid. Keeps the pace that was set by the six man, but doesn't overwhelm you. Really good match. Lucha-riffic. TJP gets the win. They put in some work.

Sami Callihan v. Kyle O'Reilly - Sami gets this match as a result of losing to Drake Younger the night before. This is a real clash of styles. Mid-way through, KOR hurts his ankle and it really makes the match better for it. This ends up being really good. One of the better Sami matches I've seen recently and easily one of the better O'Reilly matches I've seen. The styles clash and the work after the injury angle make this match. Riles wins when he gets Callihan to tap from a Triangle Choke.

The Young Bucks v. DojoBros - THE BUCKS SUPERKICK ANGELO THE RING ANNOUNCER TO START THE MATCH!!! Steen is DYING on commentary. GOLD, JERRY, GOLD! Kevin Steen spends the rest of the match doing his best Joey Styles impression. This match was awesome. These two teams have great chemistry. #theBucks deliver yet again. DojoBros go for Double Stomp into the Dominator, but Nick off the top to take out Rick Knox. SUPER KICK SUPER KICK SUPER KICK, More Bang For Your Buck. Bucks win. ****+ easy.

Adam Cole (c) v. Drake Younger - PWG has spent the past six events or so building up both of these guys. Cole won BOLA and the Title in 2012. Younger has had a three match series with Sami Callihan. Younger comes back with 18 stitches in his head from last night. Gause covering his head. They start right away, and Younger goes to the top and hits a top rope moonsault to the floor. From there, about 20 minutes of non-stop action and Kevin Steen doing more Joey Styles. They had the crowd BEGGING for the title switch and they didn't give it to them. Cole steals the win. Good booking. This is a career making match for Younger, for sure. Way over ****. The fans will be on the edge of their seat come August when Younger gets a re-match in a three-way with Cole and Steen for the title at TEN.


The last five matches were a Tour de Force. Just hit after hit. The first two matches served their purpose. Get the crowd going without burning them out. The only stinker was Trent/London.

Best American show of the year thus far. Four matches over four stars and one definitely close.
