You answered your own question at the beginning. Because we gave a 32 year old #2 WR $7M/year.

The Seahawks used the uncapped season to rid themselves of that deal. If TJ had a better attitude since coming to Seattle.. instead of bitching and whining about how many times he got the ball.. I'm willing to bet his stay in Seattle would have been longer than 16 games.

Again, the front office has this mindset that says.. "Look.. it's a miracle if we go on some postseason run at this point.. are we really that much better/worse with TJ Houshmandzadeh? Or should we give these reps to our younger players in Deon Butler, Mike Williams and Golden Tate?"

Clearly .. youth won out here. Deion Branch is still on the team because he's one hell of a leader and a class act. Houshmandzadeh... not so much.

Yep. I know I believed Housh was nothing like the guy he revealed himself to be last year. There are several articles that basically say he dogged it most of the year to try to force us to cut him sooner than we did.

He was saying all the right things this offseason, but clearly the new Seahawk front office wants nothing to do with a lot of the guys Tim Ruskell brought in. Which suits me JUST fine.

Seahawks released RB Julius Jones.
The 29-year-old's release prevents Seattle from having to drop $2.45 million on a third-string tailback. We've finally got some clarity in the backfield. Justin Forsett will be the starter, rotating probably about evenly with Leon Washington (who will also return kicks and punts). The Seahawks' offense still projects to be among the league's least productive, so expectations should be limited. But Forsett is a stronger RB3 now in PPR leagues.
