How dare this asshole compare Clayton Kershaw to Cole Hamels. They have 3 things in common - lefty, pitcher, came up in their teams organization. That's it. Did Buster Olney write this?
 
Not that many of you will care, but with the Orioles looking like a Prince Fielder signing is anything but possible, the Orioles look poised for a 15th straight losing season.

No one was brought in who you can say, "Wow, the Orioles are really going for it to try and be competitive." I like some of the things that Duquette has done for the team. However, if the Nationals continue their rise to prominence (and I think that is very likely) the Orioles will lose what little fans they have left.

It will be interesting to see how the Orioles play out this season, both on the field and with their fan base, especially if Washington is competitive.
 
For two offseasons running, the Orioles have offered a lot of money to a lot of players, and nobody wants to take it.

I remember last year they tried for all of the big ticket guys and ended up with Derek Lee, Vlad, & Mark Reynolds.

At least they try.

Oh of course. Baltimore is not coming anywhere near any prized free agents. It's a shame, especially for the fans. Such a great ballpark and area around it, yet it's fucking empty. Except for Fenway South :smug:

Went there for a game once, ended with the Red Sox winning 11-0. I saw more Red Sox fans there than Orioles, by far. Nice job, Angelos.

For the record: I'm a major Cole Hamels hater (because I just am without any rational reasoning). In all reality it's a harmless compliment but I don't like being associated with Cole Hamels in any way. It's a bitterness that goes back to Dodgers choking in the playoffs against the Phillies two seasons in a row.
 
yeah villian, he's not comparing the two, he's saying whoever comes in and buys the Dodgers should have room to expand from their 90 mill payroll, TO ADD a pitcher like Cole Hamels, who is from So.Cal...nothing to do with Kershaw...lol
