Boston and L.A. are 1 and 2 no doubt, neither lost anybody from their starting 5. L.A. arguably improved this offseason, and Boston stayed the same for the most part. The others will have to prove their worth.


Everybody is ready to crown Miami kings of the east, they haven't proved shit yet and until they do, Boston will be king of the east. It's a shame how easily everyone forgets that Boston's starting 5 has yet to lose a series when playing together

Perkins was out the last 2 games. I feel like that was the difference maker to be honest, and even so that's only 1 series lost to the #1 team. they beat every other team on their way there, they atleast deserve to be the preseason #1 team in the East this year

I guess but that Celtics team was still up by double digits in the 3rd quarter of Game 7. That team just couldn't finish it off. Not sure if Perkins helps them do so.

I agree they should be seen as the best of the East until proven otherwise though.

I think the larger issue is depth at this point.

Plus people are assuming Rose really breaks out this year as well.

Chicago's starting 5 is VERY solid and Boozer gives them a dimension we haven't had in at least a decade with a low post scoring threat that can also rebound.

The guy people seem to be overrating at this point is Noah IMO.

Depth is a huge issue for this team. Right now the team looks like this:

Rose/Watson
Brewer/Bouldin(?)
Deng/Korver/James Johnson
Boozer/Gibson/Samuels(?)
Noah/Asik

Samardo Samuels most likely makes this team after a really great summer league.

The backcourt depth is REALLY bad though. We need to add another true 2 guard badly. I only put Bouldin there because there's really no other player on the roster that fits the mold...the Bulls signing another 2 guard(Shannon Brown or Luther Head would be my choices) boots Bouldin to the D-League.

I think it's a well balanced team especially in the Eastern Conference.

They have a ton of size, solid defensive core and a real inside/outside attack they haven't had in quite awhile.

It's really all dependent on the progress of Rose, I'm banking on him learning how the shoot 3s more consistently which in my mind makes them a VERY dangerous team.

Man I would love it if the Thunder got past the Lakers then dumped the Heat in the finals. It'd be a big FU to Lebron and co., and Durant would get worshiped for being loyal and a savior.
