Silva's rematch & Rousey, it does over a million, easy.

By December, the casual fans will be sucked in with Silva proclaiming he's going to get back his title.

With the way he lost, nobody figures he's too old and most figure Weidman can't do it again.

I agree with rob, I know it was a weak opponent, but it the best fighter on the planet needs to be doing better than 550 after all these years. You could put me in there with PBF and he'll still do monster numbers.
 
Anderson has only drawn very well when with a match-up that breaks out of the generic mold of a challenger nobody believes will win. The Sonnen fights and the Belfort fight are pretty much the only ones that did what...600k-700k+?

Floyd is incomparable to anyone, the guy will do enormous (the fucker did 1M+ with Guerrero after all) numbers with anyone....in part, because he only fights 1x or 2x a year and the incredible promotional power behind his name. UFC has never had that level of success with the one exception being UFC 100 when they stacked it with Brock/Mir & GSP. Casual sports fan knows who Mayweather is, they probably have no clue who Silva is unless they're shown footage.

The only legit draw in the UFC who does great #s regardless of his opponent is GSP (Condit, Shields, Koscheck, Hardy -- the lowest # of these was 700k -- the crazy Canadians are $$$$)

Their PPV business has leveled off over the past couple years (Jones & Silva require match-ups, GSP is good by himself and everything else ranges from 150k or worse to say 350k-ish).

If Silva loses the rematch, their big idea plans are dead and buried. Should GSP fall to Hendricks, they're in deep shit.
 
I'm not saying I expected it to do more, i'm saying that after all these years, it's amazing to me that a run of the mill Silva fight only does those kind of numbers. Im not saying he should do Mayweather numbers, im saying Mayweather doesn't need to rely on his opponent to draw big numbers. Silva shouldn't have to, either. To me that means he ever got over as the best in the world.
