VOTE: Change Starting Lineup

A major concern last year was owners having trouble filling out their starting lineup with useful players, particularly OF4 & MI. Due to the the thin FA list (which will be even more sparse this year due to increased roster size), two or three injuries led to scraping the bottom of the barrel to find starters.

This also led to making it very difficult to make trades, because unless it was position for position, owners rarely had the depth to replace starting players traded away.

This initiative would change our starting lineups from C,1,2,3,S,MI,CI,OF,OF,OF,OF,UTIL to C,1,2,3,S,OF,OF,OF,UTIL,UTIL (the 8 pitching slots would remain untouched).

VOTING YES would eliminate the MI, CI, & OF4 starting positions, and add an additional UTIL starting position.

VOTING NO will keep the starting lineups the same.

This proposal subtracts two starters from the lineup, and turns a third into a more versatile UTIL spot. In addition to making it easier to fill out your lineup with more flexibility, it also adds some depth to the bench, which in theory should help open up more trade possibilities.

Really feel like removing MI and CI gets rid of the "struggle" that you'll go through in these types of leagues. It adds a little more value to quality infielders, and even the guys that aren't big names will be hurt with this move. I'm all for removing 1 OF spot and adding another Utility slot because there is so few guys that are Utility only now, so most people will just slot in their best bench option. W/e the majority votes I'm good with though.

CI was fine, but MI was honestly a pile of shit on most of the teams to the point it crossed from "struggle" to "just stupid".

There is a generic IF spot. We could replace CI & MI with IF, and replace OF4 with UTIL2.

Oh ya I remember liking that option the best. You remove 1 required spot for a hitter instead of 2, and you make it more broad for all IF positions, and the UTIL spot is everybody. Me likey.

I honestly think it's important to add depth to the benches, especially since most teams will use the NA spots which will subtract 24 more players from the FA list (which is crazy when you think about who was on that list).

It was tough to field a full roster week in and week out last year. I might have made playoffs but i don't know how with how many injuries hurt my lineup and finding competitive players to fill those needs. I voted yes and everyone else should too.
