I'm buying into the Rams this year. Bradford is the best QB in the division, and he has better weapons around him than he did last year.

This is probably the toughest one. I'm going to go with the Rams. They were solid last year and added pieces where they needed them. They weren't big profile names and nothing that's going to carry them any further, but they'll win this division.

I just don't believe in Kolb, Jackson, or Smith.

There's always a surprise team in this division.. and this year I think it'll be the team everyone expected to rise up the last few years - the 49ers. They're my pick.

Strength of schedule is overrated. You never know who's going to be up, down, healthy, etc...

Arizona on the road is never easy. Kevin Kolb and Ryan Williams will make them much much better on offense than they were last season. Patrick Peterson is an upgrade over DRC.

The Cardinals have improved. That's not a gimme by any stretch.

You're right. Didn't even check out the schedule. They could very easily start off 1-7. I think they could run that for 3-5 though tbh. Washington and Arizona I could see them beating. I don't know where the surprise win comes from, but I think they can pull a win out in one of those games. After that though, you're talking 7 out of 8 games that are very winnable.

So if they come out of there with at least 2 wins, they'd know that at least they've seen the worst of what they'll see this season. That last game in Arizona (if they pick up at least one win before it) will determine their season. If they win that, coupled with the fact that they'd know they've gone through hell and are going to be playing on greener pastures the rest of the year, could get the ball rolling. I will say 8-8 will win this division. I think the Rams have what it takes to get to 8-8.

If I wanted to be safe, I'd say the 49ers. If I was a betting man and wanted to make a quick penny, I'd put my money on the Rams.

Who does Kolb have to throw to besides Larry Fitz?

I see Kolb as mediocre at best this year. He'll struggle to adjust to talent that's inferior to what he had in Philly.

Reminds me of the Chiefs with Dwayne Bowe and Tony Gonzalez as the only legit receivers.

Even in '08 when both of those guys went over 1000 yards, the offense was ranked 26th(points) and 24th(yards).

And Heap's not getting anywhere near 1000 yards.

It's between San Fran and St. Louis for me.

If Bradford can do what he did last year, they'll take the division. They drafted Kendricks from Wisconsin, he'll be a huge help at TE. Mike Sims-Walker adds some veterannessity (fuckyeahnewwords) to the WR group which can only help even if he plays poorly.

For the 49ers, I like how their defense is set up. Has some decent talent there. Plus, they just signed Josh McCown today...and he is awesome. :smug:

I wouldn't count out the Cardinals making a run at Terrell Owens when he hits FA. (Well he's already a FA, but I mean when he's healthy enough to pass a physical)

Early Doucet and Demarco Sampson(7th rounder from SDSU) have both been looking good at camp so far. Doucet added some more muscle in the off-season and is really looking like a younger Anquan Boldin. Sampson has been snagging everything that's been thrown near him. He's really surprised me. And the TE we drafted in the 3rd round, Rob Housler, has been looking good aswell. Fast, big, and he can catch. Him and Heap will be a nice combination.

I'll be making my second trip to Flagstaff Monday-Wednesday to get more looks at guys.

Simply because every team is so sub-par haha. Not because of any real competition, but because they all suck semi-equally.

And hass, I honestly wouldn't be too opposed to seeing TO in Cardinal Red. I wouldn't expect any big numbers, but he knows it's his last time around, I think the motivation will still be there.

I'm taking a gamble and choosing the 49ers this year. I think Gore stays healthy all season, and with Harbaugh that offense will put up more points this year, and the defense will win a few close ones in this shitty shitty division.
