Rudi: The Rangers just keep on trucking along, finding themselves at the top of the rankings for the third consecutive week. Hopefully this Josh Hamilton back injury isn’t too serious, but Rangers fan have to be concerned given his history.

Rudi: All of the sudden one might consider the devil Rays to be the favorites in the AL East. With the Red Sox’s awful pitching and Ellsbury’s injury, now Swisher and Pineda both out for the year for the Yankees the Rays are about to be lurkin.

Rudi: I’m not sure how long this O’s MAGIC will last, but it sure is fun right now. The Orioles are the only team that are pitching well in the division, so I like their chances if that keeps up.

Rudi:The Yankees boast one of the best offenses in baseball, but the pitching still has some questions. How much help can an aging Andy Pettite really bring?

Rudi: The Tigers have been struggling recently but I fully expect them to recover and run away with the AL Central. The division is too weak for such a talented team not to win it.

Rudi: Jay Bruce won NL Player of the Week after going deep 4 times in the last 4 games and hitting nearly .500 for the week. The Reds are benefitting from an easier part of the schedule currently as well.

Rudi: The Giants were one of the hottest teams in the league until they ran into the juggernaut known as the Reds. Pablo Sandoval had a hit in the first 20 games of the season. Not a single person cares about his weight anymore.

Rudi: Johan Santana has been pitching incredible, but the Mets have yet to score a run in any of his starts. One analyst called the Mets lineup “the best lineup from top to bottom in the NL East.” Good joke.

Rudi: Jake Peavy seems to have returned to the dominant young pitcher we saw for a short while in San Diego. Paul Konerko is seeing and hitting the ball extremely well so far too.

Rudi: The Blue Jays are still ahead of the Red Sox in the standings. Edwin Encarnacion may have finally found his calling at the DH spot because there his terrible defense is not an issue. Joey Bats still hasn’t got it going.

Rudi: The Brew Crew was able to salvage one game in their weekend set against the Cardinals. That is saying a lot considering they were outscored 20-4 in the first two games of the series.

Rudi: Jamie Moyer is the best starting pitcher on their staff. Taking nothing away from how well Moyer has pitched, but that just shows you how bad the Rockies rotation is.

Rudi: For everyone coming out in the pre-season and saying the Astros might lose 100 games, I got news for you. This is a scrappy little team that is not as bad as we all thought. Jose Altuve and J.D. Martinez are a couple of good ball players surrounded by nothing.

Rudi: There isn’t much to say about this team aside from the fact they are 0-10 at home so far. Imagine if your club went the whole month of April without winning a game in front of their home crowd? Yeah, that’s awful.
