VSN's exclusive first look at the halftime show in Madden NFL 15!

We were able to get a 1080p capture of the new Madden NFL 15 halftime show featuring Orlando Sports Anchor Larry Ridley while attending E3 this week! Check it out and let us know what you think-

Definitely a step in the right direction, a lot better than the "halftime" show they put in the game in Madden 10 (iirc).

It's still not as good as 2K's halftime show but I think it has potential. Something I think that could help is getting away from the camera angles that only focus on the player making the play. Pull the camera back to a "broadcast" camera or even the "wire" that follows the action from above. It gives you the feeling you're watching the game on television. When we watch CBS halftime shows or Fox halftime shows we see broadcast angles.

The commentary also needs a little work but this is their first go at it so it is what it is. In 2K when they listed those statistics at the start of the halftime show Berman or Stevens (in 2K8) would point out one statistic in particular and explain why it was significant for the game. They'd always say something like "Look at the difference in Time of possession","Look at the difference in Turnovers, Total Yardage, etc.) and then state something like "Team A should be way ahead but Team B is keeping in there".

I put that out there not say 2K had something EA doesn't, but to show where EA could go with this halftime show, Because I do think it has some potential.

it was a decent halftime show - wish they could add a little Beyonce or Rihanna though; lol

Great job copping the exclusive from E3. I've been there as a reporter before, I know how hard it can be to get those guys play ball sometimes. big noisy convention center and everyone thinks they are more important than you are.

The video was head to head and the guys were just doing what they could to make big plays. Sherman got clicked off trying to go for the user pick.

I was just going to comment on this. The animations are terrible. Well, its more the fluidity of them. Its so obvious too.


I'm not hating just because its Madden, I want it to be good and to watch that was painful.

Yeah the animations certainly takes away from the immersion, but the player models look really good this year so that helps. I think the gameplay will be pretty solid in Madden 15, though, the animations are the same as they were all of last gen.

Remember in Madden 07 RBs like Tiki Barber, Shaun Alexander, Clinton Portis, etc. all had unique running animations? What happened to that...

Lucasarts did the same thing with the so-far unreleased version of the Star Wars game involving Boba Fett. The running animation for the character with a pistol resembled the same motion from Battlefront 2 from the last console generation. Very frustrating for both games to see something like that not updated.

That kicker staying in the squat position before the break is hilarious. Can't believe that was part of a reveal video.

I feel like we've seen this before, just with a female delivery.

Looks like a trademark EA "new feature."
