This was not the way the NY Knicks wanted to start out their 2009 campaign, giving up 129 points to Wade and Co. The Heat cruised in this game to a 129-97 victory and still managed to give Wade the entire 4th quarter off. Wade played the role of distributer, dishing out 16 dimes. Daquan Cook took advantage of the extra playing time and lit up the Knicks for 24 points on 9/9 shooting, 6/6 from three. Ex-Knick Quentin Richardson also stuck it to his former teammates dropping 24 points on their domes. Michael Beasley led the way for Miami with 27 points, while Al Harrington led his team with 31. The Knicks actually played decently on the offensive end but their defense betrayed them. The Heat didn't even need Jermaine O'Neal who in 18 minutes went scoreless without even attempting a shot. That was strange.

Injury Woes Strike Already For Oden
One game in is all it took for the Portland Trailblazers center Greg Oden to sustain an injury. Oden is expected to be sidelined anywhere from one to two weeks with a strained hamstring. Oden who recorded a double-double in his first game, felt the hammy go tight on him late in the 4th quarter.
