What CC changes for OF's

Just some things to look at/discuss

Preseason
-While the use of time for this sucks to add into the schedule of an OF, I think it'll be fun and useful to go through. You'll have a larger roster, have your cuts to make, have to worry about injuries (on the note of injuries, Broken Collarbones has been reduced, but players can get hurt at anytime so I'm guessing practice or at random as well as preseason? Injuries also don't wipe clean at end of season, they can carry over) so you'll need to manage your lineup like a proper NFL team would. You get a live game vs a user opponent to practice some new ideas on without worrying about a result. You get to have a feel for your fringe players to see if you like them or not, as opposed to last year you get drafted guys and they are locked up long term before you had any clue what they were like.

Weekly Tasks
-Practice needs to be done every game week for XP, I think you can sim it though. Something we'll all need to find time for and it does sound decent to do.
-Spending your players XP (random fact, RB's earn pts for OL as well)
-Upgrade your coach XP
-Scouting for draft picks the same.
-Contract negotiations the same.
-etc.

Autopilot
-Good feature to turn on in player absences, but is CPU only.
-If the CPU is decent enough to play against, we could throw the aggravation of subs out the window.
-Would the CPU fuck with your team tho? Sign players, etc?


Seems like we'll need to find a fuck ton more time to get through a single week. Everyone involved in an OF is going to need to be dedicated as fuck.

Don't really like the idea of playing meaningless games -- possible we can just do 1 cut every day for 4 days? You can plan your cuts in advance if you think you'll be gone.

One thing I'm worried about with the XP thing is the potential for people to slut certain players on their team to boost their ratings (ie: forcing every pass to one player to get his ratings up) or throwing when the game is out of reach just to boost ratings. Sportsmanship issues could arise. I know for gameplan purposes it's easy to stop one WR instead of an entire field, but it still doesn't make it any less lame.

Actually, a way to combat the overuse thing that we partially discussed last year could be to implement that usage rate % system. I don't remember the exacts of it, but something like using a 6:1 ratio in terms of carries between starting backs and reserve backs, or no more than 50% of completions to one receiver or something.

Maybe that's going overboard, but I just see clowns using XP as a way to get 3,000 yards with one player this year.

That is a terrible problem regardless, was last year and always will be, there's not much way to police it either

They already said XP points are capped. If you get say 100xp for throwing for 300 yards, you dont get more because you threw for 500. I think that will help to keep things in line. Theres no reason to slut out players once they hit the mark.

Yeah, they've stressed a few times that they have limited things for abuse.

For the preseason games. Have they said if they are Madden Generated UDFA or only players we pick up in FA/Draft involving weekly cuts?

I know last year UDFA were overpowering on Offline Franchise

I'd imagine whatever there is, it's not the same as last year since the whole mode is new. I don't see that being an issue in a 32 user league and the new XP system is there on top of that. They won't progress into studs unless we the owners invest into them, which justifies it.

I wonder how shite QB's will pan out using the new trajectories. We also have sliders to use so we can alter things to our liking if any facet of the game is too powering.

Thats true but it could make for an interesting way to build up high caliber qbs and trade them like the pack and pats do

That's true. Gives more reason than injury to get your starters out too. So in essence, helps with the stat whoring on star players.

Bout time guys like me finally get rewarded for actually taking starters out of the game after the game is out of reach. Not only that but for those practices each week, it's a great way to get that QB you just drafted that's gonna sit behind the starter for at least a season or two to progress instead of just sitting there getting older.

Yeah. Practice time will have to be used smartly. Can't just give all the time to the 1st team, or on the flip if your season goes sour, you can just amp up your projected starters for the rest of the season.

I believe you can only do it once a week. 10 or 20 reps (plays) if I remember correctly.

I also saw where it is expensive as shit to progress players the higher rated they are in that specific attribute.


Say you have a RB with 93 speed, it may cost you 45,000 xp to move him up 1 speed point to a 94 spd rating. You do this, it curtails your ability to progress other players because you are spending such a high amount on 1 player.

The higher rated your attribute, the more expensive it is to progress that attribute.
