Swing away, I hate the sacrifice bunt, unless its your pitcher. You pay your players to hit the damn ball. Hell you can drive one to the outfiled and have the runners tag if its deep enough. Nothing saying he is giong to make a successful sacrifice.

Swing away. I don't know what his ratings are, in-game, but his splits against LH's IRL this season aren't bad. 6-for-18 and you need as many baserunners as you can get down 3-0. I would swing away.

There's no way you can go for a bunt in that situation unless the guy is the flash. Down 3, why in the world would you give up 1 out. It's all about getting on base and the odds of reaching safely on a bunt are crap compared to the odds of swinging away and getting on base.

It sounds like he was bunting for a hit, which isn't nearly as bad as a straight sac bunt in that spot. A sac bunt is worthless and is a negative play in that situation.

stick ball on the corner doesnt count.

Really it doesnt matter, a million things could go wrong or right either way so if he bunts and gets on he's a hero and the coach made a great call, if he fucks up, hes a goat.

he can hit into a DP, pop the bunt up and get one of the runners doubled up, the third baseman can throw the ball into the 5th row. The Dodgers should have just been winning the game and we wouldnt have this conversation.

It's ok, I meant it in a real MLB setting. We try and play as realistic as possible, and I told him he shouldn't be wasting an out down by 3.

Sacrifice bunting in this situation is very bad baseball. Whoever did that clearly doesn't understand the game. You'd never see that in the big leagues.

Bunting for a hit may be different though. If a hitter was struggling and the defense was lined up favorably, it's a possibility. In that situation, the hitter has to do whatever to get on base to bring the tying run to the plate.
