What Do You Miss About The Old Madden Days?

I really miss being able to stick my way out of defenders (juking people using the stick). Doesnt seem to work like it use to. Players movements are sort of stiff now and when some attempts to hitstick, you get sucked in an animation.

What do you miss?

Being able to jetpack every down (joke lol) , really i miss being able to go into franchise and play all day , ps2 madden 06 and 07 franchises had so much more attention to detail , you could play in them all day long and not get bored like you do after a game or 2 in 09 franchises

After a bullshit play, huge hit, or crazy play, one of the players would pause and you could in-game text/talk about it. Navigating thru the menu to do it takes too long.

Having site lobbies, where guys from the site could play against each other instead of using the cheesy lobbies. This was when a lot of people played.

Leagues. I was in arguably the best madden league ever (WFL-Wayngo Football League). It was awesome, too bad it didn't move to next-gen. It ended on the PS2. It seems as tho leagues don't care "as much" as WFL did to people. Even tho RZML/GGML are awesome, I am talking about other leagues.

I miss when getting to the off-season in a franchise was actually "fun".

I haven't had fun with a Madden game since Madden 05 on my Xbox. Next Gen seems to be focusing more on eye candy than game play. Once the eye candy wears off what do you have left? With next-gen versions not a whole lot. I remember going deep in Franchises with the earlier Madden games, now I'm lucky to go past year 3.

I also miss the competitiveness of Madden. Now it's who can cheese, who can cash in on the "comeback" glitches, where throwing into triple coverage doesn't mean anything, it's in the final minute you'll make that catch! Realism most of all is what's missing from Madden, its been arcade like forever yes but at least in the early days it was an even playing field now you have football "purist" and the "cheesers" if your a fan of REAL football, Madden doesn't apply to you anymore.

Please 2k...bring back the game of football.

I miss all the online features they used to have in madden.

the tournaments online where awesome, the lobbies were better

but what I miss most of all was the fact that you actually had to pick apart D's in that game, and when you played the computer on all madden, it wasn't easy. playing the computer today on all madden is like playing it on all pro back in 06 and 05.

I remember I used to just fucking rape everyone with indianapolis in 06 before my xbox fried, 89-11, good ass record. no real cheese in the game either.

thats what was truly great, you couldn't really cheat in the old maddens, there were no unstoppable blitzes, and while there was the occasional fucked up kicking, (madden 07 onside kick), it wasn't bad enough to piss you off.

those where the days of madden, I'd give anything to have that type of gameplay again.

I miss the control you had over your guy. If you had really good stick you were unstoppable. Now you just get sucked into animations.

I miss going over my cousins on the weekend, and during school breaks to play people from Madden Nation like TerrorBlaze, Madden101, Marshall, Premier Player and Bones.

I just miss the game overall.

I really wouldn't mind it if Madden 09 for the Xbox 360 was just like the ps2 days with updated rosters, and a few tweaks. I wouldn't mind it one bit because of the fun I had playing. I would probably still play the ps2 madden if people from here played it.

I miss the days(madden 03) when all of my male cousins had madden for the PS2. I always knew that if I went to a family members house we were going to play madden all day. Back then I knew nothing about football and got whopped, now that I'm a beast in madden nobody else in my family plays anymore.

I also miss the days when playing the CPU was just like playing another person.

I miss the 2-minute drill. It made it easy and fun to test out new schemes against the CPU, better than calling plays and new plays in practice mode.
