What have you learned?

I've learned, yet again, that the first half of the season means absolutely nothing.

In 2008, the Jets and Brett Favre went 9-3 in the first 12 weeks of the season and failed to make the playoffs.

In 2009, the Denver Broncos started 6-0 and the Tennessee Titans 0-6 and both finished the regular season 8-8.

Basically, never get cocky (GoblinSlayer & GlenWillet) and never get down (bringbackjimmy) because it's a long ass season and anything can happen.

I will bump any thread I want! Denver still did better than a lot of people thought and most of my bumping was directed at Jay Cutler who last time I checked still led the league in interceptions.

I will never understand....You focus more on a ex-quarterback than on your team blowing 6-0 start?

I've learned that the NFL should do away with a lot of the end of the season games that are just TERRIBLE watching and whose outcome doesn't mean a damn thing for anybody. The Saints, Colts, and Vikings ended the season 2-7 after starting 37-2. The Browns and Bucs ended the season 5-1 after starting 3-23. I feel bad for people like the Bills fans who paid money to sit in terrible weather to watch their team beat up on a JV squad. There's no clear way to fix this as it matters to a few teams, but it's obvious that this down time every season produces some of the most worthless, unwatchable football ever. I fell asleep 5 minutes into the Dallas/Philly game.

Also learned that McDaniels is who we thought he was. A hard-line Belichick coaching tree off-spring who will cut off his Pro Bowl caliber nose to spite his fighting for a playoff spot face. In trying to show that he could win without Marshall, he proved that he couldn't.

And finally, I learned that Jake Delhomme is a cat. Some magical cat with 9,000 lives. There's no reason that guy should still be starting, but he is. 23 picks in his last 12 games, and gets nothing but votes of confidence from John Fox. Probably for being a great leader, a positive lockerroom presence, paying for his own hotel room, and other things that can't make up for his terrible on-field play....

Orton had 431 passing yards, a season and I believe career high. I don't think he missed Brandon Marshall.

I'll be the first to admit that after the Denver gAme I let my frustration get the best of me and learned that you shouldn't post when pissed. I learned that Roy williams is garbage and to never doubt that. He may make a play here and there wher you start second guessing but give him time he will prove you you right.

Ben proved today that Hines needs to STFU when it comes to his toughness. I give him huge props for coming back in with that injury. He defeniatly deserves a better teammate the ward.

How many players does boy wonder alienate this off-season? Starting 6-0 and missing the playoffs is really sad. maybe they can trade Marshall for a 1st.

What do you know Glenn.. in the end I was pretty much right about Denver and San Diego.. and the playoff positioning and record of both of the said teams. Not something ive learned, but ive come to expect a Denver meltdown yearly, lulz.

I learned that players arent always as they seem until you have to see them play weekly on your own (new) team *cough* Jay Cutler *cough* Orlando Pace.

Marshall makes plays. We'll never know if they would have won with him on the field, but we do know they lost without him. I don't think you can just easily discount the loss of maybe your best player on the entire team not playing in a loss to one of the worst teams in the league.

Jabar Gaffney>Brandon Marshall.

Gaffney took over Marshall's role as the number one wide receiver yesterday and had 14 catches for 213 yards. That's more yards than Marshall has ever got in a single game in his career.

Anyone who watched the game can tell you Marshall wouldn't have made a difference. The draft picks we get for Marshall will help the team a lot more next year, than whatever Marshall would contribute.

How many more injuries and meaningless late games will we see if NFL goes 18 games...blech.

Colts = No injured players.
Packers , Pats both possibly lose 2 key players in meaningless games.

What Ive learned is as usual...the more you know the less you know. You cant predict the NFL despite many individuals claims as to otherwise.
