Which pre-game show and why ?

Which NFL pregame do you watch. And why ?

Last year I came to the realization that NFL networks fri-sat coverage render sunday pregames pretty useless. Outside of liking certain personalities I really don't see the point anymore. FOX has always been default because I like Jimmy Johnson , the FOX theme and robot guy ,and Cowboys are usually on FOX.

Just read ESPN is going to 3 hours. Why the fuck pre game needs to last as long as an actual game I dont know.

Fox is too glitzy, ESPN is too Berman. I go with CBS. I don't get NFL Network in HD, so it's off the table.

im sensing the rhetorical question. but its obviously all about advertising dollars.

its weak. pointless is a major understatement. We are overly flooded with media info now that it makes watching a pregame completely useless. all u have to do is go online and check a website for the latest info.

personally i enjoy CBS only because they cover the AFC where my Browns are. probably the same reason u like fox for the cowboys

I like FOX because I like Jimmy and Howie. The schtick with Bradshaw and Caliendo gets a little old though. I tend to start watching the ESPN pre-game show since it comes on first but then switching over to FOX when it comes on. Recording both on the DVR so that I can fast forward through commercials to get to the segments I want to see.

The pre-game shows are also background noise for my last minute fantasy football preparations. I spend about an hour each Sunday morning getting the last minute roster adds/drops and starters sorted out.

If I'm up for pre-game stuff, I'll have it on in the background while I do other stuff. Like bill, if I have ESPN on, it's only because it's on first. Once noon hits, ESPN is off. Of the two, I like Fox over CBS because the latter seems more vanilla.

I can't stand Caliendo though so I turn that crap off when he comes up. He's not funny with his same 'ol tired shtick.

They are all really terrible and entirely unwatchable.

NFL pre game shows out lived their usefulness years ago. Back in the day, pre internet, you didn't get information until Sunday morning during these shows. Now, you are flooded with information overload all week long, and anything they tell you on Sunday you likely already knew.

FOX has the intolerable and unbearable Terry Bradshaw, CBS has the made of wax Dan Marino and the black Terry Bradshaw (Sharpe), and ESPN has the intolerable and unbearable tag team of Berman & the pompous Tom Jackson. I can't really comment on NFL Network because I couldn't even tell you where it is on my lineup because I literally never watch it anymore. Why the hell would anyone watch NFL Network? The NFL is so overexposed everywhere else, NFL Network serves no purpose.

My pre-game ritual usually just consist of trolling Cowboys,Titans, and Colts fans in the chatbox. Also this year I'll be testing out the waters at pre-game Chi City Sports.


While I'm doing that, NFL Gameday Morning is on in the background. It's pretty bad though.

I've been watching the fantasy football now show on ESPN 2 more then any of the pre game shows.

I got into a bad habit of sleeping to 130. That way I had a half hour buffer going to ffwd through commercials.

For like the past 10+ years it was always ESPN at 11 then switch over to fox at 12 and pretty much grab something to eat when that idiot caliendo comes on.

I just find jimmy, howie and even strahan (dunno if he's on this year) to have more x's and o's approach to the game. Plus they have glazer who saved my ass last year a few times.

Yeah I used to do what Leaf said and that is ESPN, until noon then Fox.

then after a while I pretty much just watch ESPN, then at noon flip back and forth, but mostly watch ESPN. I have never been anti Berman, plus I usually get a kick out of the Mayne Event.

Fox has Bradshaw, who just acts like an annoying idiot. CBS has Sharpe, who is an annoying idiot. I don't have NFLN, so I go with ESPN.

ESPN for me. CBS is vanilla as someone else put it, NFL Network I'm not that keen on, and I pretty much stay away from FOX like the plague unless Green Bay is playing.

They are all equally pointless. I usually have it the ESPN one on in the background while I get my shit together for the day, eat food or drink my coffee or whatever, and then I usually turn on the ps3 to kill the rest of the time. I'll catch the tail end of the FOX and CBS ones as I flip over to those channels in anticipation of kickoff. ]

But yeah, equally pointless.
