Which Route Will Tanaka Take?

What are your guys thoughts on where Tanaka may go? His deadline is this Friday to sign with a team, curious in what you guys think will happen?
 
Dodgers or Cubs. Either way the winners here are cynics and small-market clubs that like to cry poor.
 
Yeah i would have to say the Cubs or Yankees, would love to see him in LA but i don't see that happening!
 
The Cubs really seem to be pushing for this, but I have a feeling that we will see a darkhorse come out of nowhere and win the sweepstakes.

Won't be Holland now, but I think the Rangers find some way to move salary and swoop right in for him.
 
As the Masahiro Tanaka free agency saga reaches the end-game stages (the deadline for him to make a decision is this Friday), five teams have reportedly emerged as the strongest candidates to sign the coveted Japanese right-hander. MLB.com's Joey Nowak writes that the Yankees, Dodgers, Cubs, White Sox and Diamondbacks are regarded as the leading suitors at this late hour.

The implication is that previously named hopefuls like the Astros, Mariners and Angels aren't presently in the running for Tanaka's services. Also of note is that CBSSports.com's Jon Heyman back on Jan. 9 named those same Yankees, Dodgers, Cubs, White Sox and Diamondbacks as the biggest players for Tanaka.

As for Tanaka himself, the 25-year-old is coming off a 2013 season with the Rakuten Golden Eagles in which he went 24-0 with a 1.27 ERA and struck out 182 batters in 212 innings. In addition to the $20 million posting fee owed to Rakuten, Tanaka is expected to fetch a contract that pays him around $25 million per over at least six years.

I wouldn't even pretend that, it was just a feeling with Yu Darvish being there and all. The only place I would remotely have inside info is UGA football, but I don't broadcast it.

On another forum we actually had some dude going around and BS'd his way through about six months of NFL inside access before someone eventually called him on it.

Seemed to me things were trending that way. I've heard a lot of reports as to what they offered so who knows where the truth lies.

I'm glad we're not locked up to him but it would've been nice to see the front office do something to prevent this from being the worst year in franchise history.

I don't think the Cubs will be that embarrassing. They are just a season or two away with some solid prospects.
