Which team do you think is in the deepest hole and cant compete for the longest time?

Id have to say Clippers, they have a lot of really bad contracts, Baron/Randolph/Kaman/Camby/Ricky Davis.

They have some youth but id say they cant compete for another few years.

Also Toronto is really pretty screwed for a few years.

I'd say Baron is the only bad contract on the Clippers; Davis and Camby are both expiring.


I think the Bucks are in the worst shape, they won't have cap space for at least 3 years, they aren't bad enough to get a top 5 pick in the draft and re-build, and they aren't good enough to win more than 45-50 games. They are stuck/

How are the Clippers in the biggest hole? For one Ricky Davis' contract sint even big. Its only for 1 year and worth 1-2 million dollars. The only hole they are in is with Baron. Yea he sucked last year, btut only cuz Dunleavy woudlnt let him run fastbreak(where eh scores alot of his points). Camby expires next season, so again that isnt a huge contract, Kaman is still a great big man(showed when Brand was out all year), and ZBO still gets 20 and 10 a night.

i'll throw a wildcard into the mix - new orleans. over the next two seasons they are going to pay peja, chandler, antonio daniels, and mo pete a combined $74M. they are in luxury tax territory this year and will have zero room to sign anyone next season. they'll stay afloat because of CP3 but he's not going to get any happier carrying this team while just about all of his teammates are net losses on the court. if he isn't opting out after 2011/12 to go anywhere else, i'd be surprised, and then they are royally fucked

the clippers will be in the biggest hole as long as dumbleavy is the coach and has morons like randolph and davis playing for him. red auerbach couldn't get that team out of the depths of nba hell.

Minnesota - Rubio most likely won't play for them for awhile. Flynn is still a shaky point guard who has to prove himself as something more than an exciting college player. Ellington is solid but can he get open and hit the shots at the NBA level? Al Jefferson is coming off a serious injury, as much as everyone loves big Al, you never know how players are going to bounce back from knee injuries.

Not to mention they have no depth to come off the bench, they will be picking in the lottery for the next couple years... count on it.

I'm going with the Mavs. They traded away one of the best young PGs in the game for an old PG who has done little, if nothing to help their team.They really have no youth on their team and have to deal with the massive contracts of Dirk, Dampier, Terry, Howard, and Stackhouse who are all ending on the 2011 FA except for Terry who ends one year later. They have a 16M contracted player in Matt Caroll who barely plays at all. As soon as they all of these players retire or leave the team, they will basically have to rebuild.

With everything that's been going on with the Yao Ming, Ron Artest, and Tracy McGrady lately I just can't see the Rockets making it again in awhile. After the news breaking about Yao Ming being out for this upcoming season, if not longer I think it puts Houston right into rebuilding mode.

Clippers have a very talented team...Randolph is a 20/10 guy, Baron can be great if used correctly, Camby is a machine on defense, Eric Gordon is an up and coming scorer, al Thoronton is a good young scorer, DeAndre Jordan and Mike Taylor are great off the bench type guys and don't forget about Griffin, this team does not suck and has a great shot at making the playoffs if they play to their potential and stay injury free. Yes their contracts are screwed up but they still have a good team.

So true, no1 realizes how good this Clipper team can be if they can stay healthy.

It is the New Jersey Nets. Dug themselves a huge hole. If they don't get anyone in 2010, like they're apparently planning to, they will set themselves back even further. Not too long ago, the Nets were Finals contenders. Now, we're about to be worse than the Knicks and it's because the people in that organization think that because they're in the New York sports media, people are just begging to go to their shitty basketball teams. wow. the consensus is that they actually have a good young core. i'm not as high on harris as many but i still acknowledge that's he's a good player. lopez is money and will be an upper-tier center for a long time if he stays healthy. as a rookie, lee made more than 40% of his 3s, played good defense, and started most of the season for a team that made the finals. CDR and terrence williams are inexperienced but have good games. bobby simmons is the only bad salary on their roster at this point

Oh, I love Devin Harris. Great player. Lopez is good. The rest of that roster, save Terrence and Sean Williams, is garbage. Courtney Lee will not produce with New Jersey, he is a player that benefited from Orlando's system. If Lee was really that good, Orlando wouldn't have packaged him for Vince Carter. Rafer Alston now probably moves Keyon Dooling to 3rd PG, which is terrible. This is a 25 win team. Bobby Simmons is terrrible, Yi turned out to be garbage, there isn't a playmaker on that team outside of Devin Harris. They'll be lucky to get past that and when they get fucked over in 2010, they're going to be in an even bigger hole.
