Jerry Angelo: Jettisoning starters (Olsen, Kreutz, Manning, etc.) and thinking the off-season was a success. Big signees (Williams, Barber) had no impact. Kellen Davis is terrible. Having a deep two of Wright and Conte results in 79-yard TDs on 3rd and long.

Lovie Smith: Stop the insanity. Two runs in the 2nd half? The Bears were still in it down 16-13. Actually take control of the team. Get the ball into Forte's hands. Overrule the "pass mentality".

Major Wright: Other than his rookie year preseason, this guy has been a total liability. Why is he still on the field? Major Wright is Major Wrong.

Mike Tice: For all the blathering the pro-Bears media does about this guy, I've never seen an offensive line be so porous AND blow so many assignments. The left side of the offensive line is a joke. How many times did Webb block down and let the defensive end over him get a free run at Cutler? How many times did the Saints rush just three guys and Williams still lets a guy blow by him unblocked?

Mike Martz: No explanation necessary.

Jay Cutler: This guy has no leadership skills whatsoever. For a guy who is a jerk to everyone and has nearly permanent pout face, when is he going to say enough is enough and take over the team instead of allowing Smith/Martz to ruin it? I don't question his toughness, but I'd like to see him audible to 3 consecutive running plays and tell Smith/Martz to screw themselves. I'd like to see him call Mike Tice onto the carpet and ask why so many blown assignments. As John Unitas once said, you aren't an NFL QB until you tell the coaches to go to hell.

It is no secret that I am a staunch Mike Martz supporter/apologist. However, this was one of those games that got away from him, as Cutler nearly died. With that said, the buck stops with the head coach, and clearly Smith just let's Martz do whatever he wants. I was never a fan of former assistants hiring their former boss. Its an odd dynamic.

But before you toss Smith/Martz under the bus, you have to look to the front office. Nothing was done to upgrade the OL or WR. Why bring in a guy like Martz, and then do nothing in two years to upgrade what he is working with? At his other stops, the teams allowed Martz to bring in his own guys. The Bears keep asking him to run a pass heavy offense with an atrocious OL and Johnny Knox & a backup DB starting at WR.

Oline/Martz. Handsdown. 1 run in the 2nd half by your starting RB isnt acceptable. And the oline was pretty much giving people free shots at Cutler all game, he got sacked 5 times in the 4th qtr

I thought you didn't really care for Kruetz? Frankly, he's not any good and on Sunday having him would have made no difference as most of the pressure the Saints were getting was off the edges. JaMarcus Webb looked completely inept. I think I coutned 3 straight plays where a Saint's defender came in untouched off the left side.

Running the ball two times in the second half was a joke.

I'd be interested to know what the Cutler blowup on the sideline was about.

True in general but I'm not sure it really factored into this loss at the Saints as I didn't think the interior of the Bears line played that badly. Then again Williams had all that help from Webb even when Webb wasn't supposed to be helping.....

Losing Carimi REALLY hurt and it seemed like Webb mentally checked out or just flat out lost focus in the final quarter.

Agree with FT, Olin would/could not have done shit on Sunday to help the Bears.

Mike Martz was bad, Oline after Gabe left was bad, Jonny fuckin Knox was bad real bad. Alot of things did not go well for them yesterday.

I hope Jay was yelling at Martz through the QB coach.

Ill also hold out hope that this game is the same as the Buffalo game in the Preseason. They were fucking awful, but they have progressed every week since that game of course until yesterday. But its one game and its a bunch of shit that can get fixed. (Like some communication on the left side of the line and not allowing free rushers off the edge.)

Martz for his lack of running game and pulling Forte on the Bears game changing turnover drive. You know, the one possession where Davis let up the sack that resulted in a fumble - Forte was inexplicably on the sideline that drive. He was Cutler's go-to check down and for some reason he was on the sideline. In general, he also needed to see more action in the run game. This is Martz fault.

Tice for his abysmal protection schemes and preparation. The Saints thoroughly confused the Bears at the offensive line and I blame that on preparation. The O-line didn't look like they knew who to block. On too many occasions, defenders were able to get into the backfield untouched. Even a down lineman walked into the backfield untouched late in the game. How does that even happen?

It was obvious who had the better coaching staff yesterday.

I understand Martz does not like to be micro managed, but at the end of the day, who's the boss? Well, Danza is undoubtably the boss (duh), but you get the point. Its Lovie's responsibility to keep Martz in check when he gets wacky.
