Yankees for sure......acquiring Pineda and Kuroda improved their pitching drastically, and puts Ivan Nova in the fourth spot in the rotation, which is where he is a better fit right now. Still return everyone else of note, so definitely a win for them.
At least the Orioles are trying. Duquette added some pitchers who can eat innings (provided they don't get shelled out of the game, or even make the MLB team) and a couple hitters who can get on base. Small moves, and I don't think we get to .500 like Duquette wants, but those moves are what he said he came into the off-season for. At least he has a plan.
Oh, and while it doesn't give us anything up front, expanding the scouting focus is going to be huge for this team. The Orioles were still in the dark ages as far as international scouting goes, and it is nice to see the enhanced focus there. Also, the hiring of Rick Peterson and Chris Correnti to help the system develop pitchers is going to be huge down the road as well.
