Check out the :30 mark for some low fives & slick dance moves, followed by Stevie making blind guy faces. Also, every time Paul says "mypyiyano" I wanna crack him in his dumb limey mouth. This song annoys me to no end.

And don't get me started on "Wings". Band on the Run is another song that makes me instantly stop what i'm doing, make italian guy word noises, and punch the radio.

The song is bad enough, but then the video is filled with try hard ugly hip hop Asians, one of my least favorite subsets of human. And for some reason she spells bananas over & over at the end of the song.

This, legit, might be the worst hit song of all time. I can't think of any mainstream hit, from any genre, i'd want to listen to less.

The only thing worse than songs where the artist flaunts & brags about money, is this "song" (more like a collection of wacky sounds with nonsensical lyrics), where somebody rich talks about wishing they were wealthy. It's overproduced trash that will hold up very badly over time.

I think my overall point here, is that while both are extremely charismatic, clearly neither of these people were the driving force creatively for their bands and were probably very lucky to be surrounded by more talented people.

Robert Plant would be another good example. His non Led Zepplin stuff is pretty shitty.

Because everything McCartney did post Beatles was garbage. Harrison was still making music that didn't make you cringe with embarrassment if it came on the radio and people were around.. Better than Lennon, imo actually. I'm not too fond of Lennon either, but I get the appeal and recognize he was pretty brilliant creatively. McCartney is a cornball. Everything with his fingerprints is schlocky cheeseball shit.

Compare McCartney's collaborations above to something like the Traveling Wilburys album:

If you examine the writing credits, Lennon & Harrison carried the load & wrote the good stuff. The McCartney songs are many of the forgotten or shitty ones. Most of the stuff multi credited is just McCartney writing lyrics if you dig deeper. To me he doesn't stack up to the other two in the talent department, and his post Beatles career put a gigantic spotlight on that, because none of it is good.

I am not a solo McCartney fan...but I give no fucks about Gwen Stefani.

Maybe I'm Amazed is good enough for me to suffer through eons of McCartney's shit. I also fucks with that Live And Let Die. Most of this other "hitz" are kind of shit, despite Hope of Deliverance getting a solid head nod once in a while.

With that said, he's got some deep cuts that aren't bad. But he tends to be light in the loafers on most his shit post-Beatles. Less happy shit, more Jenny Wren, I say.

Sir Paul is one of those dudes that needs some bad shit to happen to him...maybe even a bout with depression and a nice drug addiction to get him going again in his 70s. Seriously...Paul's best solo stuff came right after Lennon died and his wife died. What I am trying to say...someone needs to die.

I contend Lennon did the heavy lifting, and Harrison really shined later with some of the strongest songs they ever produced (While My Guitar Gently Weeps, Here Comes the Sun, Something, etc).

McCartney surely had a hand in some of the great stuff (Cant Buy Me Love, Hey Jude, Yesterday), but he also wrote all of the schlock (Yellow Submarine, Ob-La-Di Ob-La-Da, When I'm Sixty-Four, etc), and the scklocky junk really shines through in his post Beatles career, which is really the topic of the thread.

McCartney is kind of a dork. Harrison was introspective and probably had the highest IQ, and Lennon was emotional with the feels & a creative genius. Ringo was inconsequential.

Sure, but what doesn't come down to personal taste is rather or not McCartney was a driving force for the band. Sgt. Pepper's was his idea and baby, along with just about everything that came after. Regardless of if you like the material or not.

I'm more of a Harrison guy myself, but acting as if he was more responsible for what went down is silly. His songs and ideas were hardly even taken seriously by Lennon and McCartney.
