Who would you rather have? Fielder or Hamilton?

As the Prince Fielder sweepstakes goes on and on, there has been talk about the Texas Ranger's possible interest. However some people assume that they can't afford to sign Fielder and resign Josh Hamilton next year.

Both players are super stars, but they also have their flaws. Who would you rather sign to a long term deal? Vote/Post.

If I'm the Rangers, Fielder, just because he's an upgrade to Moreland and 1B is a bigger need organizationally than OF.

I'd probably take Fielder anyway since he's 3 years younger and Hamilton's health scares me, but it is dependent on the team.

Hamilton is older, always injured, and his body is probably a little older than his chronological years due to his prior substance abuse. I'd take Fielder, but if I were a Rangers fan, i'd probably prefer to keep the superstar i'm more attached to since this is pretty close, plus a healthy Hamilton is the better player.

But if you're a Rangers fan wouldn't you rather have Fielder and (insert LF here via trade or FA) over Hamilton and Mitch Moreland?

Yeah, from a straight analytical/baseball perspective I would prefer that. But I also recognize that i'm not a cyborg, so if I was a Rangers fan there would probably be an emotional attachment to Hamilton involved. That's what I meant by that.

It's not like it's a forgone conclusion that Fielder outproduces Hamilton over the length of a long deal anyway, so i'd probably prefer to roll the dice with the player I have invested time in emotionally.

Do we have any Rangers fans here? I dont think we do. Deathdealer?

I would rather have Fielder. As some of you said, Hamilton is older and probably has a bit more age on him due to his drug use. Considering it might take a seven year offer for both, I would much rather have Fielder, as I don't see Hamilton being useful in the field by the time he is in his late 30's.

Though Hamilton is a favorite of the Rangers and I understand that. It will be a difficult decision finding a deal to work for Hamilton due to his age right now.
