Why is anyone even looking forward to this draft?

I can't remember seeing this much fanfare leading up to a draft on a msg board. Maybe this is just a more basketball-centric site than MM, but there seems to be a lot of hype around it. I for one, am about as excited about this draft as I'd be about going to jury duty.

Who the hell cares with this draft? There are no franchise players, no big market clubs with high picks, and no blockbusters likely to go down.

I will probably watch the NBA Draft, but I'm still not sure. Usually I'll watch every year, but I can seriously think of very little reason to watch this time around. Just an overall boring class IMO.

I'm excited for no reason other than it's the draft. I like seeing where everybody goes, superstar or not. There's always the chance your teams entire future could change on draft night .. you never know man.

Well, everyone seems to have their own opinion on this particular draft. Ive seen many credible people say this is going to be a terrible draft, then I have seen other analysts say its going to be a great one.

I for one believe this draft has a lot of depth, a few borderline all-stars, maybe one franchise player(Blake Griffin). Also, I wouldn't completely knock out the idea of a blockbuster going down. Its been plastered everywhere that the Wizards have actively been trying to move out of the #5 position.

Yeah, maybe it's just where the Hawks are as a team that has me not feeling great. We're now in that in between stage where we aren't good enough to not care who we pick but also not bad enough to get anyone we know we want....so I'm feeling ambivalent.

I liked Teague at Wake Forest, but now I'm all of a sudden not thrilled with the prospect of us drafting him. If Lawson falls to us though I'd jizz all over.

That sums up my feelings as a Pacer fan perfectly.

But still we got Danny Granger at like #17. There's always a chance.

Whats not to like about the draft? Its every shitty teams chance to hopefully get better. Its a time of hope for all fans. Doesn't matter who is in the draft, a lot of teams future are built by getting pieces in every draft. Plus, Im a huge college basketball fan so I love seeing where all the players I followed go in the pros.

I disagree.. I think this draft has a lot of depth and is going to produce some quality players. Maybe not a bnch of franchise guys but definitely some solid players in this class IMO. Im looking forward to seeing where some of the 2nd round picks go, which is rare for me for a draft.

draft is the draft. No matter how many "superstar players there are" there will always be lottery picks and those picks will always excite fans.

This draft actually has alot of depth plus its always intresting to watch because the player your team gets is another peice to the team.

Poor Blake Griffin - of all the NBA teams to go to, the Clippers are the worst. NBA Siberia.

Supposedly, Walsh wants to trade the Knicks pick(plus Wilson Chandler) to move up and get Ricky Rubio.

This is an interesting draft because it's a lot of role players. Not that many "projects" but more or less a lot of already half way decent players that have reached their peak.
