Why Revis should be the DPOY!

I don't think Deion was guarding most of those guys. I never remember him guarding Irvin in the NFC Championship game. I know Eric Davis was the one who was suppose to guard Irvin.

Revis was in a zone for walker and Ginn, Ginn was a blown coverage by the safety but Revis took the blame and Walker did a quick slant with revis behind and the linebacker zoning the middle which they both missed the tackle. The Moss one was legit he was on him Man to Man and Brady read something quick and threw a small quick throw in which revis should have intercepted but he never even made a move.

Woodson: 63 targets, 34 receptions, 54% completion rate, 11.7 yards allowed per completion, 6.31 yards allowed per target, 158 yards allowed after the catch, 5 TDs allowed, 8 INT, 4 FF, 2 sacks, 5 TFL, 14 passes defended, 60.3 QB rating. (before the Pittsburgh game)

Those two games were week 15? So week 16 and 17 stats are not included.

I'm pretty sure Revis was in man coverage with Rhodes playing over the top and Ginn burnt them both.

I'd take Revis though..his rep has spread rampant...he's one of the quickest to anticipate the ball and is always in good position to make a play on the ball...he doesn't have elite speed but he's in such good position that he doesn't need that speed.

My inner homer says Woodson. But I can see the other end where Jets fans are pissed to no end that he gets no recognition. And likewise if it were vice-versa.

I'm not gonna take anything from Revis. He is amazing. I'd even be fine with a shared DPOY. But personally I don't think you can deny Woodson if it can only be one of them. I'm biased however.

Interesting fact i read today...

Woodson was named NFC defensive player of the month in December. He has won the award three of the fourth months this season, making him the only defensive player to ever have won it more than once in one season.

How can you not be DPOY if you win one of the conference defensive player of the month 3 out of the 4 months of the season and its the first time a player has won it more than once. He got 3, not even just 2. 3 times.

Well I wouldn't mind if Woodson won...I just haven't heard much about him to late...

I know Revis was trying to build his rep as a shutdown corner and he's done that and more to the point where the hype machine has been cranked up a lot. I didn't know Woodson was having a great year until week 15/16 but that maybe a product of me being on the east coast.

houtz, that's one of those plays where your shocked...you never expect bums to beat you...but he did on that play...Revis shouldn't have let his guard down

He can make the big play
He gets plenty of interceptions
He can take it back to the house every time he picks the ball off

No other corner in football has the coverage skills+the big play skills that Revis has.

There's no reason to blitz Revis, and he doesnt make the play calls, Sexy does...

What he does do is shut down number 1's, he's imo the best man corner now.
