[360] xbox 360 transfer HD data

I'm beginning to think my 360 of about 5 years old is starting to go on the fritz.

It's currently working fine, but for some reason it's not wanting to shut completely off. the lights go out, but it still runs.

Anyhow, thinking of going out to get a new machine, but don't want to lose all my save and shit. expecially with ncaa 13 being on it, and the online pass.

Is there a transfer method? Can I use the cloud to save to then copy over? Honestly, i just discovered the other day that the cloud was added as a storage device, so i know nothing about it.

Are you using your cloud as a storage devise?

I've done this before. You have a regular 360 and when you get a new one you can transfer that hard drive to the new one. all you need is a torx set and watch this video.

I believe if you're trying to get your content moved from your original console to a new one Microsoft will actually send you the transfer cable free of charge.

With the 2K football games no longer having new titles coming out there's communites out there that really push getting new rosters out every year for titles like 2K5 but are unable to edit things like rosters and faces without having this HD transfer cable. so like anything else people figured out that you can get it for free if you say the right things.

i have the transfer kit. you pop a little cd in the new console, put one end of the cable on the old HDD, then plug the usb end of the cable into the new console and follow the on screen directions. very simple.

what you will want to do is visit 360.com to find out about transferring your content license to the new console. without transferring the license the data can not be used on the new console.

shit, i had no idea all this would be involved. kind of a to do, to proceed with a new console.

its easy though. the license transfer take 2 seconds. then u have to re download any DLC content to the new console.

the transfer of data might take some time depending on how many gigs you have to move. you can also use a flash drive too

Yeah, they did that for like a week until they figured out "hey, we're M$ and love fucking our customers over" and started charging for them. Actually, I'm not even sure the separate HDDs come with a cable anymore.
