Sorry to hear Rush. To bad things fell through. Trying to be serious, I think VSN burns to many bridges. You had the owners excited about the move, but it sounds like a couple of ex-VSN'ers put up a lot of resistance.

I say groan away cause you all won't want to hear this, but maybe if the VSN Pirate porn bomb stuff stopped and the unmerciful trolling that's done, fewer bridges would be burned and we would have a better chance at a move like this.

Although, it's just human nature to resist change (like a merger) it's always gonna be an uphill battle. Too bad the owners caved to the pressure. Hope the next time things go better.

Well as you can see those guys are faggots and I knew it would never work out. And the mergers would work out if you waited to troll- there are always shitty members on each site that are shat on, so join in with the others and everyone will eventually learn to get along. I was kind of hoping for a merge, I have become bored with this site. Activity has fallen off, the chise section is dead, J.Live is MIA, I think Nevermind might be coming on to me, etc...

Maybe I have just grown out of the forum thing, but the only thing that keeps me coming back lately is talking about the Seahawks or strange stories I need to vent with Woy in the CB..

we dont merge... we absorb, take over or shut down sites and keep the posters that cant either take the abuse or are cool. this is vsn, nothing more nothing less. and it will always be this. at some point we will even take over PP's site and his so called followers so we can encourage a few of them to either stop posting altogether or commit suicide on youtube. why is there always someone who wants to change us? if you want friends and to be loved, go outside.

this thread has turned into a perfect example of why vsn sucks and why nobody would want to merge with vsn. here you have a thread that starts off as a nice discussion about another site vsn wants to merge with. a simple discussion with no final decision having been made. Both sites discussed things among their members and vsn seemed open to the merge, while rsz did not seem all that interested. So the merge is called off.

now vsn has turned to, lets bash the other site cause they dont like us....rsz is pussies and assholes...whatever. thats exactly why they dont want to merge with vsn. they have a nice little community that is about discussions...not full of 20 retards who troll all day without ever adding anything of value to any discussion.

It makes sense for a failing forum like vsn to merge with rsz. it made no sense at all for them to merge with vsn. Im sure they are well aware of the lame porn bombings and trolling of other sites. Or how we beg quality members of other sites to join our discussion only to flame them in ever social outlet possible.....why the fuck would they want to be a part of that? my guess is they are not dominated by retarded high school kids who use vsn to vent their daily frustrations since they arent man enough to do it in the real world

the only thing keeping alot of people here is their bond from MM. the guys in the gameroom and nfl forums and some of the leagues....but if u notice, those guys are starting to slowly move away from this site too because they know this site offers no value unless you want to flame or troll other people

There is a portion of this site, that, the only reason they post, is to criticise the site. and thats fine. if its their shtick, well, its stupid shtick, but VSN is cool cuz you can say whatever you want.

yes, activity is lower, and that is to be expected with a community this old. but maynard is right in this sense: VSN has nothing to offer to any other forum, or to new posters.

It's sort of like this... my family has property in downtown San Pedro out in SoCal. it's in what is now a shitty part of town, with old buildings that are kind of falling apart. there is no parking in the area. but the building code is grandfathered like a motherfucker, its still standing, and you can still get people to pay a few bucks to rent out the store fronts. its not worth the money to completely renovate it, you cant change the fact that the neighborhood sucks and you'd be dropping a ton of cash in something that simply doesnt have the potential to return the investment. but theres still tenants paying rent.

in other words, its fine the way it is.

and honestly Rush if I were you i'd stop taking the fucking flamebait when people talk shit to you about it. I respect the fact that you take pride in the site and you are doing what you can, but, theres not much you CAN do and theres no need to jump through hoops a bunch of nerds on the internet are commanding you through.

the site isnt going to grow, because the same people who bitch about it not growing are the ones that go out of their way to bitch and moan about the growth attempts. and so let them bitch and moan. you will still maintain a userbase that will come here to check threads, because we've all been talking to each other for years, and VSN would not have lasted as long as if deep down we really didnt give a shit. its a niche. its a niche that isnt going to grow, and will suffer from some atrophe. noone is going to get rich off this forum or this community. but whats left will stay together as long as it can. and if it dies, it dies. this is the internet. it happens. but i have a feeling that 5 years from now, palooza will still be posting popularity contests, i will still get drunk and go to the chatbox, we will still make threads that talk about things that already happened, and people will still be bitching about the activity.
