Haven't been around in forever, I see a lot has changed! I was at TGL thinking that was the new VSN until Houston brought me here.

I just finished up my first season coaching HS football, I gotta say I've learned a lot in the past few years. I remember I used to write Sim Guides for Madden on the old sites, I can't imagine what they look like now but I'd love to get back into that.

Did you coach a specific position for the HS team?

I was the Junior Varsity defensive coordinator. I spent a lot of time studying defense and learned a ton of little nuances about the game that I would've never even thought of before. It's amazing to me the things I see now that I didn't a few months ago even watching a game on TV.

I always thought Madden/NCAA was pretty realistic, but it's unbelievable now how bad it is. Even a Cover 2 is tremendously flawed. Trap coverages like Cover 7x (that's a real coverage!) or any kind of pattern-match coverage is not in the game and teams use that almost exclusively, specifically quarters coverage aka Cover 8.

I should start up a thread and just post football stuff, not for Madden but just in general. Kinda like an NFL Playbook. It's pretty cool to see the higher level stuff in action.

You should definately do that, id love to learn more about the intricacies of the game and im sure others would as well.

Aren't those just like an extreme prevent? In my school we called them back ups plays. Because we were just supposed to back peddle and not allow anyone behind you.

Football vernacular is different everywhere... We call it a man under quad prevent... It just depends where you are/where you learned it...
