    After watching it again...

I like the fact that the gameplay is slower.

In the past if McNabb hits Maclin on that drag, he takes it upfield like it's nothing. And he has a 96 speed.

I also like some of the new tackles I've seen.
I also like how the QB doesn't just stand there... however it would be nicer if McNabb hopped around a little more like he does.

What I don't like is how Mike Jenkins had McNabb blind sided real bad, but totally whiffed, and ran past him. Unless he was user controlled? I didn't take notice.

        You think?

I don't. I can see why you'd suggest it, but I think people will still go for NCAA as dynasties are much different than chises.

It happens quickly, but I believe Curtis is behind the defender, and a quick hard throw when he makes his cut and it's six points.

The fight for the fumble thing reminds me of a UFC submission for anyone who played that. It's probably the same concept: button mashing matters as well as the player's skill level.

Kinda pissed I preordered NCAA now even though I got it for $50. Oh well.

I can't wait for this game. Not only did they put a lot of attention to the minor details of the game, for example Romo on the phone with the towel on his neck and on the phone, and then in other blogs how they have the planes flying over and team specific cleats and cut scenes, but it looks as if they put a lot of attention into the game play as well. You see the tackling looks cleaner, the counter to Westbrook looked almost perfect, the fumble pile up was real cool. And then throw on the possibility of online franchises and this game looks like Madden will finally be a game that we will be playing from August until Madden 11 comes out. And if the game looks good now, imagine the final product that they give us that's in stores in August. I really can't wait.

They chopped the hell out of this video. You're missing a lot of the presentation elements.

I'm shocked, OS is being a LOT harder on the video than you guys are. There are issues here that the CD guys pounded on. As I pointed out over there, I was told there that most of them wouldn't' be touched too much until Beta, and this is a two week old video (Beta just started)... so as a quick couple of things I know will likely change (unless there's a serious balance issue they can't address)...

                  * Pockets will be tighter and set up quicker
                  * Defensive linemen will fire off the line faster
                  * Handfighting/jostling between DBs will be more commmon
                  * QB drop after setting should become more difficult (in fact, I'm sure of this, I've seen a more recent video)
                  * DEs will get off blocks going up field more effectively.

Now, if in 2-3 weeks we're getting videos exactly like this, I'll start worrying, because there were some issues at CD that haven't yet been addressed that were true game killers (one in particular, if it ships, will be the single game killer in the history of Madden: And I'm not over hyping that! Of course, that's the one thing I can say where people will believe me, eh?).

                      I'm glad,

at least EA seems as if they're making an attempt to make a good football game...

I loved NCAA last year, but I refuse to buy NCAA 10 until they prove it's not NCAA 09 with updated rosters... so far they have done an absolutely TERRIBLE job at that.

looks good, onkly problem for me was the commentary and the back track
IMO they should just screw the back track feature, i mean Collinsworth says a guy is open when he is covered quite well and it jsut sucks. Waste of disk space and also the commentary is really bad. I wish they could go back to ps2 commentary with John madden and AL Michaels

All in all love the pocket and they speed of the game, presentation is epic and i love it

Definitly lovin it so far and i didnt see a gang tackle which i was a little annoyed about lol but its good that sit aint happedn every play i suppose

                        Well done EA

Probably the first time since I started playing NCAA in '01 that I am more hyped for MADDEN.

Another little detail picked up from Twitter that I already knew but fucking spaced on.

If you remember the NY trip prior to the NFL draft, when the team returned to Orlando, something had fucked up blocking in a big way. I talked to Ian about it via email and he stated on twitter than the blocking was shot for some reason. He was pissed.

I just realized this video was made shortly after that, and Ian confirmed that pro-tak was actually disabled for this build... hence the REALLY wide pockets and no collapsing at all.
