Nothing official has come from PD/Sony so everything you hear/read is all speculation.

I know for a fact that all game sites/retailers that have dates set is NOT true.

The article is a little misleading, Sony has yet to announce an official release date, and all retailer dates are simply placeholders with nothing to back it up.

This is the only game I plan on purchasing this year/next year besides maybe LBP2 so I guess I have no choice but to wait

Also, Sony.Style's website has a release date of "on or about 11/30/2010"

I will say this though. The joy I got the day I picked up Half Life 2 after delay after delay was simply awesome.

Just came across this, Kaz was asked about GT5 at the SEMA show and he said the discs "are being stamped as we speak", they even got a photo of him confirming it with his hands (he doesn't speak english) ;)

Speaking to Siliconera, Sony’s Peter Dille says “it is coming before Christmas” as Yamauchi also said last month. However, they “haven’t put a [exact] date” to GT5. “Yeah, Kazunori came out with a comment that they are working on a few last things. He apologized to the community, but explained it is coming before Christmas,”

Inmiddels has confirmed no more rubbish screened, sources tell us that the pre-launch party in Madrid on 24 and 25 November 2010 will take place. This hints at a release around November 30, 2010 for Gran Turismo 5 in Europe. This is no official release date, but a conservative estimate.

The Pre-launch party in Madrid was previously postponed after the delay of Gran Turismo 5. Then it was scheduled for October 26, 2010 and was released on November 2. Now, 30 November or early December 2010 will adjust.
