Bears have a slow secondary and play the cover 2 scheme...speed is useless in their secondary essentially.. and they've always been known to have a slower secondary.

Keep in mind that these ratings aren't finalized. If there are flaws and enough people complain I'm sure the devs are willing to adjust them, they've done it before.

The only explanation I have for the Bears DBs having slower speed ratings than the LBs is that speed doesn't necessarily mean good coverage in this years game. The Bears CBs essentially could have decent cover skills without having great speed. The LBs have higher speed ratings because they are better in pursuit and quicker to get across field and to ball carriers.

That's the only logical explanation that I can think of.

Nick Collins at 93 is probably too high but I'll take it. Jordy Nelson will go higher in ratings as the season goes on, I guarantee it.

Former Denver QB Jay Cutler adds an entire new element to the Bears offensive system, namely the ability to throw the deep ball...Devin Hester and his 99 SPD will be one of Cutler's main targets in Madden NFL 10...Matt Forte is an absolute every down back with his 99 Stamina...The Bears still are monsters of the midway, at least at the LB position with Lance Briggs (95 OVR) and Brian Urlacher (94 OVR) patrolling the field...Bears rank in the Top 10 position units at QB (9th), RB (11th), LB (4th) and Special Teams (7th)...The worst unit for Chicago is their WR unit which ranks 29 of 32 in the NFL.

They're the worst team in the game at a 65 overall (like they were as of the last roster update for 09). I personally don't mind it at all, doesn't matter what the ratings are for the team. It's how you play the game and how you use the team you have. I personally LOVE that the Lions are the worst team in the game (and I did in 09 as well) cause it just feels good when I roll with my Lions and beat someone using the Cowboys or Steelers.
