Just a couple things we want to reiterate and incorporate.
1. Remember that on ball D is required. About 95% of the guys do a good job at doing this. But let's try to tone down on steal spamming (this includes swiping as the players catch passes). There was a game that was played in block 2 in which the losing player lost about 10 points to his opponent due to "points off turnovers" based off the swiping the pass as it's caught animation. It's slightly overeffective, and we need to cut down on it by about half. Try to make a conscious effort to not to swipe after every pass. Also, do the same on post entry passes. It's okay to switch quickly and try to tip the pass away with a post, but lets not do it every time.
2. Headfaking Epidemic. Everyone does it. Myself and MRN included. It's just a bad habit that everyone uses to try to get the D to bite after every pass....Tone those down by half. It's just a conscious effort thing. If we slowly improve at it, we won't find ourselves relying on the headfake as our main weapon.
3. Instead of sending XBL messages during a game to point out poor gameplay, use AIM or the REPLAY. If you don't use AIM during games, use the replay option. Do it in a timely manner. Highlight the player and show the occurence twice so there is no confusion as to what they are doing that's something wrong. If they keep going to it, then pause and talk it out. There's no need to get an argument going right away when a simple pause will work.
4. We are going to incorporate a short notice mandate system. We feel that we have a GREAT group of 14 guys. We almost had to kick one this block, but he saved himself tonight by playing most of his block 2. But the truth is that we shouldnt be rushing on the last day of a block. We will give you a notice that a game needs to be played within 24 hours or you may face removal. Our waitlist (needs to be updated) is very solid and I have been receiving IMs from players who want in....I will never boot a player without sending a notice first asking them what is going on. If I receive no reply...I won't hesitate to issue the mandate. This helps keep our guys active (which we really have no problem with)
5. The pick and roll will not be tolerated as your sole offensive game plan. Due to poor AI switching, some players feel the need to run the pick and role more than once per possession. Try to keep this moderated, using this without calling any plays will not be allowed. The pick and roll is allowed, as long as you use actual play calls in between. We won't limit players to a number of pick and roll's per game, because that is picky, but you can judge when it is getting out of hands.
6. MRN is going to start writing a power rankings/news article. You all have done a great job. Visualization is positive reinforcement. Everyone knows that the forum gets boring to look at. Adding news articles and power rankings will help keep spirits high.
