Either way if these rosters are as bad as Pasta says they are then this game will see a sharp drop in sales, hardcore online gamers won't mind because someone will create rosters for download in the locker. But what about offline gamers? They'll be screwed.

Wait...wouldn't it be the other way around? Online gamers HAVE to play with the default rosters that are sent with the game. Yea, they can edit the names of players, but that's the only thing they can edit that will show up online (things like changing skin color, positions, ratings, class, etc. won't). Where as offline gamers can edit the rosters to their liking so they can start their Dynasty with THEIR rosters, no matter what changes they make.

i'd assume you'd be correct, but i'm a little fuzzy on the whole issue.

i haven't followed as much this year as usual, but what does team builder have to do with an actual division 1 ncaa football team?

i guess when i think team builder i think create a school...
“I ask, sir, what is the militia? It is the whole people, except for few public officials.” (George Mason, 3 Elliot, Debates)

“A militia, when properly formed, are in fact the people themselves…and include all men capable of bearing arms.” (Richard Henry Lee, Additional Letters from the Federal Farmer (1788)

Go check out the Team Builder feature on EA's site. When you get to your created teams roster, you can select the rosters from other NCAA teams (Michigan, USC, Texas, Florida, Nebraska, etc. etc.). When you select one of them, it'll show the roster for those teams and they are quite messed up.

Least I think that's what everyones talking bout in this thread, like those are the actual rosters that will be shipped with the game correct?

By online i ment gamers with access to internet on their systems, the average gamer isn't goint to want to have to edit 119 teams to be able to play a realistic dynasty, hell the average gamer isn't goin to want to edit the 12 team in their conference to have to play a realistic dynasty

You know even if you can't go online, you can still buy a cheap USB Flash Drive and get the rosters off of the internet somewhere and put them on your system.

True. Ah well, can't win em all. If you think bout it though, those ones without internet and all that jazz, probably aren't really into NCAA as much as everyone else. Or at least aren't really in the loop about the game in which they won't even know this issue until they buy the game and find out for themselves. By that time EA's essentially won.

I think I'm just gonna rent NCAA now considering by the time we get real rosters, Madden will be around the corner. This really sucks..

Franchise/Online Franchise guys can play with better rosters. Of course, it is going to take a month + with these rosters for anything resembling decent.

I've seen allot of people say no big deal because you can use teambuilder. This is false hope to say the least. While you could recreate a school and edit their rosters now with TB, you are limited to 12. Thus you could essentially only edit one conference and the rest of the roster would still be messed up beyond belief.

EA has been utterly silent on the issue. As a defense lawyer I would advise them not to comment at all on anything roster related given the pending litigation.

Some have asked how could Keller's lawsuit affect future rosters. While he won't directly, he will indirectly. EA won't do accurate rosters anymore due to fear of litigation (unless they win a dismissal/summary judgment in the Keller action). If they have to pay Keller or lose at trial, NCAA Football will no longer have anything close to real rosters b/c they would have to wonder how many people will sue them years later after getting out of college when they are pumping gas like Keller.

                          NCAA Football R.I.P.
This is where EA has the ability to make up for inaccurate default rosters. Like I posted in the other thread, they (EA) can use TeamBuilder to allow people to get a head start on roster editing. Either get rid of the limit, or start up a new site entirely devoted to allowing people to name and edit their rosters before the game drops. This way, people are able to download accurate named rosters as soon as they pop their disc in the system. It would also allow for instant feedback from online communities trying to create their own rosters.

I was hoping that this is what we'd be able to do with Team Builder this year, but of course we can't. Woulda been so much easier than doing it on the game with a controller and a USB Keyboard (if you have one). Alas, I don't see this ever happening, even more so now after all this mess.

See what I mean. I didn't actually check the rosters per say, but I did see the option to pre-select your roster with other actual NCAA rosters. This is exactly why I wouldn't get too worried yet. Thank you for that bbj.
