    If you are looking for the ultimate sleeper team in Madden NFL 10, look no further than the Houston Texans. They are a young team with star players on both sides of the ball. Starting on offense at wide receiver, Andre Johnson (98 OVR) and Kevin Walter (80 OVR) form the NFL's 9th ranked WR unit and TE Owen Daniels (86 OVR/82 SPD/87 CTH) gives QB Matt Schaub (79 OVR/89 SHORT ACCURACY/78 INJ) another big time weapon in the passing game with his speed/hands combo. If you can find a way to get rookie TE/HB James Casey on the field, do it. He is very versatile and gives the Texans the ability to show defenses a lot of different looks with two TE sets. The big question with Schaub however is his health...If he can't stay on his feet, Dan Orlovsky (63 OVR) is the backup and he is not exactly proven. Steve Slaton (87 OVR) is the real deal at running back but there is not much depth behind him with only Chris Brown (67 OVR) and Ryan Moats (69 OVR) on the depth chart. The big weak spot in the Texans offense is on the O-line (28th ranked unit in NFL). On defense, Super Mario Williams (95 OVR/84 SPD/95 FIN MOVE) is a stud at defensive end and look for him to cause even more damage to opposing backfields in 2009. The Texans added former Cardinals DE Antonio Smith in free agency, giving the Texans one of the stronger DL's in football (14th ranked unit). DeMeco Ryans (88 OVR/96 TAK) returns at middle linebacker to tackle anybody and everybody. First Round draft pick Brian Cushing was a big addition to the Texans defense. The one big area to attack this defense is via the passing game. The Texans secondary ranks 19th at CB and 27th at Safety. Cornerback Dunta Robinson (84 OVR/93 SPD) is the clear leader of the group.

    I've noticed a lot of interest in the Texans this year in Madden!

            My own reaction to the ratings themselves for the Raiders in 10 is that the

            QB's:: accurate, especially Garcia over Russel ratings wise
            RB's:: I feel McFadden should be above Fargas but Fargas does have more experience. And I feel Bush should be rated higher. I feel that Mcfadden and Fargas should be low 80s and Bush 80 to upper 70s. Because this tandem was 10th best (Rushing Yards) in the league behind a wellbelow average line which says a lot about what they can do on their own. But then again the ratings are spread out this year so maybe the upper 70s isn't so bad compared to the entire league.
            (SOURCE::http://sports.espn.go.com/nfl/statis...on=2&year=2008
            FB's:: Seems especially Accurate
            WR's:: Accurate except for maybe Schillens and Higgins a bit higher, maybe lower 70s
            TE's:: I feel Miller should be higher, but i think he is already a top ten TE ratings wise in madden so i guess that's amazing compared to the other TEs in Madden. I think he will only go up in ratings as the season goes along he is still young and only getting better.
            OL:: Accurate, maybe Gallery a bit higher
            DL:: Accurate, maybe Scott a bit higher had a good rookie year in spot playing.
            LB:: Accurate but i believe Howard is better than Morrison, then again two different positions
            CB:: Accurate, no arguments, but i think that throughout the season Johnson will go up as high as mid 80s
            S:: Accurate
            K:: Accurate, but he has to have between 100 and 98 Kick Power....
            P:: Accurate, but sad he is the 2nd best player on our team...

            Any logical agreements or disagreements??

              I can't begin to guess on any of them except maybe Garcia. If Russell is the starter [currently is although a local QB controversey has started already] then Russell and Garcia most likely will be evened out OVR-wise by EA. Hard to tell about the EA ratings nowadays, lol.

              However, Garcia is considered to be one of the most accurate passers in the NFL.

              For sure, we will know Wednesday!

                It's amazing how accuracte the playbooks are. Look at 30 seonds [ame="http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=O7mGwqqbdW4&feature=channel"]YouTube - maddensimplayers.com Dallas vs NE pt3 (sorry same jerseys)[/ame] and see how incredibly accurate the playbooks are. They got the PA Screen that the pats so often run to welker. The playbooks are definitely the most important thing to me.

                I can't wait to see the rest of these ratings. Especially the Broncos and Patriots because they are such great spread offensive teams. I'm so hyped for Madden 10!!!!!!!!

                  Yeah, the wait can be miserable for those still waiting for a particular team. I remember every freaking year having to wait till the last couple of weeks for the NFC South.

                  Good thing about getting them early is you can go in and edit your roster and with your new players and adjust their ratings to the new set. Can't do the additional QB ratings, etc., but 90% of the adjustments match up with the new OVR. Fun and keeps you busy. With TC just around the corner, good time of the year!!

                  BTW, see lots of new avatars and sigs popping up, including yours, Houtz. I had to pop one out as well!!

                    I saw in a video the Dolphins wildcat will consist of 2 formations, 6 plays in each formation for a grand total of 12 wildcat plays.

                        Tomorrow, Monday, the ratings for the AFC West start…and the Kansas City Chiefs are due up.

                        I borrowed some expert analysis just to throw some thoughts out there on what the the Chiefs may be up against in their division.
                        Kansas City Chiefs (7-9)
                        Kansas City may not make the playoffs in 2009, but it takes a significant leap forward from a 2-14 season. The triumvirate of Scott Pioli, Todd Haley and Matt Cassel has a ways to go, but is making the right moves. The Chiefs average 19.7 points per game (#24) and allow 23.0 points (#17) against a schedule featuring six games against 2008 playoff teams.

                        Absolute Record: 6-10

                        Most Significant Newcomer: Matt Cassel, QB - With four years of NFL experience and coming off a very efficient system with the Patriots, Cassel may sound like a safe option for the Kansas City Chiefs who are looking to rebuild under new management and a new coaching staff. That's not necessarily the case. Cassel has only started at quarterback in 15 games since high school and has only played in the Patriots system with a veteran offensive line and great weapons like Randy Moss and Wes Welker. Cassel should actually be viewed more as a boom or bust prospect with about equal likelihood of either. As opposed to managing the game, Cassel will be called upon to make plays for head coach Todd Haley's offense. The Chiefs lack weapons in the passing game and do not have a great pass-protecting line. If we based our projections simply off of Cassel's numbers with the Patriots, without adjusting for the talent around him (then or now) or his limited experience, the Chiefs could be in serious playoff contention in this very weak division. We have to assume some drop-off in production and ultimately have him completing 59.2% of his passes for 2,968 yards, 17 touchdowns and 11 interceptions. Given the disparity between offenses, it could be worse.

                        Biggest Strength: Scott Pioli, GM - We should find out rather quickly just how much Bill Belichick and Scott Pioli meant to each other in New England. I am a believer in Pioli for the simple reason that his resume includes the Patriots' success, which means that veteran players want to play for him and young players will listen to him. Particularly on defense, which is switching to the 3-4 from the 4-3, the Chiefs already look vastly improved under Pioli. An upgrade has also been made at quarterback. Kansas City appears to be in good hands. The Chiefs are not a playoff team yet, but they may not be too far away.

                        Most Exploitable Weakness: Offensive Weapons - In 2008, the Chiefs were historically bad at getting to the quarterback, notching just ten sacks on the season. That number should go way up with personnel additions and the philosophy switch to the 3-4. Whereas that may not be as much of a weakness as last season, Kansas City may have actually downgraded its offensive weapons. Dwayne Bowe should be a Pro Bowl-caliber wide receiver with wide receiver guru Todd Haley at head coach and a better quarterback. Larry Johnson can still be effective when healthy and free of off-field issues. And Jamaal Charles is an intriguing talent. But that's all the Chiefs have. They traded away future Hall of Famer Tony Gonzalez, leaving them with no pass-catching threat at tight end. Every running back and all of the wide receivers behind Bowe have major injury histories and obvious holes in their games. Todd Haley has an extremely tough task ahead of him if he hopes to rebuild this offense like the one he had last season as offensive coordinator in Arizona.

                        Closest Game: Denver Broncos (Week 13) - This begins the final run for the Chiefs as they end the year with five games against teams we predict to finish below .500. Defeating a divisional opponent at home could provide the Chiefs with some big time momentum to carry throughout December.
                        For sure, I do believe the Chiefs will be a better team with Cassel.

                            Lol, any predictions this time of the year are "fantasy" predictions or assumptions. What are yours?

                            This is not serious sheet....just passing the time....unless we can come up with some "factual" predictions, which in that case the games haven't been played, everything is "fantasy."
