NCAA 10 Demo Impressions

It's pretty terrible.

The graphics are shit - I mean they exhibit some puke green vibe, which makes no sense.

The passing camera is wack, I honestly don't understand why it has to look like the Wire-Cam.

The animations are the same as 09, the stupid two-pointing fingers up in the air celebration is still there (absolutely retarded).

The only positive, as far as gameplay is concerned, is that the pursuit angles are better - but even then it just looks like some form of chaos.

I'm sorry, I popped in 2004 last night and had a blast - they got it right with that game, why did they have to make such a DRASTIC change when they switched to nex-gen?

They could have just improved the graphics (player models, field, crowd, etc) from NCAA 2004 and I'd be happy.

kind of agree wih hart. They added some new features, but its still the same old boring EA football game. I was bored after 2 quarters

Seemed way too fast, game-speed wise. For some reason they can rush you with ease, and you can't get near them unless you do an all-out blitz.

Nah there would still be a boatload of complainers I'm sure. Demo took forever to download, really don't have impressions since its a demo and I can't play it more than 3-4 times.

Complainers are involved in any game, even the best sports game this year so far(MLB 09 the Show) receives complaints. It's just dependant on whether the complaining is constructive or not.

NCAA 2004 is one of the best football games I have played (next to 2k5 of course). It had everything, and it was done correctly. Sure there were some issues, but they were not glaring.

I just want to know what the hell happened (or who the hell happened) within the 6 years space...

2004 and 2005 were both pretty solid games, 2004 was obviously superior to 05, but both seem like night and day compared to what we have today.

Next-gen football has fallen flat on it's face. The same broken, tired engine just keeps getting dusted off and tweaked but never truly fixed.

I loved online dynastys from last year but I am not liking at all how this game plays.

i never played ncaa before until the 09 demo came out , then wen i played the ncaa 10 demo , i was impressed , for me i liked the 09 demo way more than the ncaa 10...

i never bought a ncaa game yet and will keepin on buyin madden until i really like a ncaa game

just rent it and see how you like it. you cant see the whole game just by playing the demo.

i don't even think this game is spectacular or anything. i just miss football, have free time right now, and love playing with USC. i didn't get ncaa 08 or 09 so i really miss playing with USC.

i miss playing football games. i like football games far more than any other type of sports video game. im craving to play a new one so im definitely gonna get this game.

I finally played a full game of the demo. I didn't like the new camera but there is probably going to be an option to change it. It's like the action camera on madden which I didn't like. I know it's a demo but the graphics seem way worse. I don't know if it's because the game is being played at night but the graphics in the 09 demo look way better. Other than that it's a decent game. I will not buy it but that's not saying much because I have never bought an NCAA game I just always rent it the day it comes out and return it the day Madden comes out and buy that. All in all it will be a fun game to play before Madden comes out, but I just don't think it is worth it to buy it.

Played some more this morning impressions the same.

However, I thought I would share an example that actually happened in the demo that I played of just how truly retarded the CPU playcalling logic is.

Florida (Me) 21 Oklahoma (CPU) 14

Oklahoma ball 4th quarter 30 seconds remaining 4th down and inches (after OU uses their last time out) on their own 25 yard line. I call a Quarter Man Cover 2 just assuming a pass would have to come and didn't bother checking the packages. OU comes out in the GOALINE!

Then, Bradford goes on the QB sneak against a 3 man line and there is no defender within 2 yards of him and he just falls down short of the 1st down. Turnover on downs. Game over.

I understand the QB sneak was kind of cheap but from going from that end of the spectrum to you can't make it on 4th and inches when the defense is in the quarter?

All that new stupid animation (which you cannot control) is going to do is make everyone go from the QB sneak to the still automatic FB dive out of the same formation.

Doing AA now.............customizable controls in NCAA..........there's hope for Madden!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Leading a receiver feels much diff this year...at least to me. In '09, you could lean on the stick heavy and still make the pass......haven't been able to do that in Heis or AA.
