Demo came out today. I'm gonna download and play NCAA first, and then play this so I will post my thoughts later.

I played two games, and I am nearly positive I'm going to buy it now.
Animations are better, gameplay is nearly the same besides the wheelhouse thing which seems to work well.
It is All Star teams so players are a little too powerful overall, but normal games should be fine.
The only thing I don't like is the "Big Slam", it seems like it could ruin some games.Last edited by A Tasty Burgerr; 06-18-2009, 01:40 PM. -

Trying to get my buddies to give the game a try this year, and judging from the demo, they won't now..lol. They think the whole game is chaotic with crazy plays happening on every play which is not the case, but it is for the demo because of the stupid all star squads battling.
Don't know what they were thinking with the big slam.,,,it will ruin games.
I'll still buy the game and have fun with it.Comment

I don't like the Big Slam at all either but I can tell it'll be much improved from last years game. The only problem I see right now is as you mentioned the demo gave the impression the game will just be chaotic with explosions all over the place and diving catches every other hit.
Still though a solid overall game, I think it's going to be a whole lot of fun but I really... REALLY don't like the Big Slam thing at all.Comment

When in actuality, with regular teams, only a few guys on each team that have legendary attributes and wouldn't be able to make all those crazy plays.
Since all my buddies soured on mlb2k9 this year, I was hoping that the bigs 2 would fill our baseball 360 void, but the demo is just too over the top for them.Comment

But what people are trying to say on here is don't think that will be the whole game. These are all start teams thus a lot of them have legendary defense and legendary offense so you're seeing a lot of explosive plays. That won't be the case if you play Phillies vs. Reds or whatever.Comment

I think it was supposed to come out on PSN some time tonight.
Something cool I noticed: Players can't play completely out of position now like they could in the first one without any penalty.
Josh Hamilton loses a point in fielding at catcher, Pedroia doesn't have a legendary arm if he's playing left field, etc.Comment

Yeah I found that out when I tried to throw Pujols out in LF like I use to do in last years game.Comment

Absolutely. That was my thought when playing the demo that people are going to think this game is complete madness. I won't lie, I had a headache after my first game which was something like 15-13.Comment

After about 5 tries I finally beat the National League on the highest difficulty level. Kinda gets fustrating with all the great plays and what not. I don't understand at exactly what point the "Big Slam" feature comes. I can fill my turbo bar and get the automatic hr or the automatic strike out but I have only seen the comp unlock Big Slam. Any help here?
I'll probably rent this game and keep it out a few extra days past the due date but deff not a buy.Comment
