Patrick Kane, it was announced in the Toronto Sun today
Winning rookie of the year honours is one thing, but getting to be on the cover of a video game? Patrick Kane's star is truly rising.
The Chicago Blackhawks winger will grace the box cover of EA Canada's NHL 10 -- revealed here for the first time -- when the game goes on sale Sept. 15 for the PlayStation 3 and Xbox 360. The official announcement is slated to be made at a press conference tomorrow in Toronto.
The 20-year-old Kane spent a stellar season with the OHL's London Knights, and won the 2008 Calder Memorial Trophy after his rookie season with the Blackhawks. He was chosen for this year's edition of the popular hockey game franchise because he's a rising star on one of the league's most storied teams, said NHL 10 producer David Littman.
"Kane is perfect for the face of NHL 10," said Littman. "He's young, passionate, bold and skilled and those are the qualities that we like to associate our game with."
