    Madden Curse?

To avoid the dreaded Madden curse, EA producers thought it would be a great idea to put a retired player on the cover. Their choice; Brett Favre, one of Madden's favorite players, and a legend in Green Bay.

Fast forward six months, and the New York Jets have missed the playoffs after a 9-3 start, and a win against an undefeated Tennessee team. Brett Favre threw more interceptions than he did touchdowns, and in a lot of instances, it seemed like he costed New York the game by making erractic decisions and forcing throws that were not there.

So guys, does the Madden Curse still live?

I was thinking this for a while now but i didnt want to say nothing until something happened.

But I think Farve may have broke it, looking at how bad the other players faired

I'm definitely not one for curses and that kind of stuff, but at some point it has to stop being a coincidence. If you're on the cover its been automatic that you're either hurt or just have a shitty ass season. What happened with the Jets missing the playoffs after that start and Favre's play down the stretch is enough to still consider the curse alive.

lol so since he was a Packers QB on the cover is that why Aaron Rodgers had a fucked season?

And actually he caused Chad to go to Miami, he brought new light to the Jets, his passing threat also helped T. Jones get his 1000 yard season. If you ask me he did alright, especially looking at the fact that he's had worst seasons.

Brett Favre being cursed? How bout Brett Favre just plain SUCKS. 39 year old who thinks he's god's gift to man kind. He can't make the throws anymore, he single handedly pulled the team out of position to waltz into the playoffs, and he's the reason Eric Mangini could be fired.

Interesting piece of news on the ESPN bottom line, "Close sources" to Brett said that he doesn't enjoy playing for Eric Mangini because Mangini calls him to the principals office, and chews him out about bad throws in front of the team.

OF COURSE HE'S GOING TO CHEW YOU OUT ASSHOLE, YOU FUCKING SUCK. Just because the coach isn't on his knees giving you head every week doesn't mean you stop playing because the coach sucks. You make possibly the worst decisions of any quarterback in the league, and Mangini is an old fashioned coach. Just because your name was Brett Favre and Mike Sherman/Mike Mcarthy were afraid to even talk to you doesn't mean Mangini is at fault here. I bet Holmgren chewed you out when you were the rookie making the same mistake. It's ok everyone, he's a gunslinger, he can do whatever he wants. This man reeks of arrogance, and i hope to god his right shoulder is FUBAR.

The curse is still alive, it is just too weird for favre to have this kind of season. Maybe they should just put Adrian Peterson on the cover next year, of some fat ass offensive lineman. Or hell, why not Bill Bellichek.

Yea Bill Bellicheck should get coach of the year and he should be put on the cover of Madden... lol that would be sweet

But shit why not put John Madden back on the cover of Madden? I mean the game will sell no matter who's on there. Let madden witness his own curse.

It's a "curse" as far as I'm concerned until a player has a good season and does what he's supposed to do.

Leading the league in interceptions and going 9-7 with a cupcake schedule is not "getting by".

                        It's still alive. Who's next?

If they ask Matt Ryan for some reason, I hope he says no..lol.

Good post. McCarthy didn't chew him out but definitely talked to him and controlled him. Hint as to why he had a good season last year. He made the safe throws.
