Many of you have been eagerly awaiting information on the SOCOM: Confrontation DLC pack and today we’re happy to announce that DLC will be available to the community later this summer.

We'll be unveiling a lot more information on the contents of the packs in the coming weeks, but in the meantime, here are the basic things you can expect to see in this huge update to SOCOM: Confrontation…

Man O man!!! I play Socom everyday. I dont care what others think about the game or how bad the game started off, but man reading about the upcoming Patch we should get in July and this tease od DLC which looks to be a snow-downed version of the calssic socom map Vigilance. Man after this Tigers game ima up on and play all night cause this image makes me feel so giddy.

Verrrrry nice! I still play SOCOM from time to time, I would alot more if I knew some more guys that still played it cause it's always funner to play with buddies. What's your PSN man? FREE Downloadable Content:

We are happy to announce that the 1.60 Update will also contain additional features and content. We’ve heard your requests for new content and we are happy to provide free downloadable content with the 1.60 update. The following free Downloadable Content will be available to all players:

New Special Forces: The Dutch KCT and the Italian COMSUBIN Special Forces. Each Force includes new heads and voice + a light, medium and heavy variant of their own torso and legs (each with a unique camouflage pattern).

Two new primary weapons will be immediately accessible to players who select to play as the new Special Forces; the 417 assault rifle for the Dutch KCT and the SPAS 15 shotgun for the Italian COMSUBIN Special Forces.

Four new weapons will be available to all players regardless of assigned Special Force. These are the 9mm Sub Machine Gun, M82A1A, Ak-74 and SR-25. The 1.60 will also include a number of weapon updates and adjustments to existing weapons.

In addition to the free DLC included with the 1.60 update we are also working to add 100% Random Medleys in the 1.60 update. We know this is a highly requested feature and we really want to get it out to you.

About freaking time... I still play this from time to time. Ive been holding back, because I didnt think /6 had future plans for the game. Ill start playing alot more often now because I really like the game.

I reaaaaaaalllllly want to get into this game. My buddy bought it for me for my birthday but I have so many games to play. I checked it out one night with him and had no idea what I was doing.

All this new stuff and DLC sounds really cool. One thing that really irked me though was that you couldn't totally alter the controls. For some reason you couldn't change the X button and I think one other button, which didn't make sense to me. The controls were very confusing.

I actually sent JRoze a message on PSN earlier tonight asking if he could show me the ropes sometime because i see him playing all the time. Maybe you could hook me up Quiet? Are there any in-game tutorials? I though I saw a 'video' option on the main menu.

Well you cant change X because Slant Six programmed X for all the climbing and opening doors. Its been like that since socom 1. But the new patch is gonna give you almost full ability to custimize it to your liking. i cant wait. Showing the ropes is something you have to do while playing, cant really be done by typing it.

I have enjoyed Confrontation, not as much as SOCOM II, but it was great fun nonetheless. For some reason, though, I always find an excuse to stop playing.

Im still learning the game myself. The best thing to do is go to respawn games, so you can get use to the controls and aim. Playing with a group of friends will ease the learning curve as well.

This is funny because I was just bitching to Russell over AIM last night about lack of DLC info. Then this info drops the next day...lol. If they drop a good number of maps, I can see myself getting hook till MAG and Modern Warfare2 drops.
