Ian Cummings Comments on Differences Between Madden 10 on 360 and PS3

Nothing too substantial. The created plays...Is it like the Head Coach created plays?

Glad to see they could actually make the football spin in replays on the PS3 version this year.

I need detail on that PS3 play editor.... if it's at least as good as the PS2 play editor, I'm gonna be looking very hard at getting a PS3 (along with The Show, of course). I'm considering it anyways, but that would pit it over the the top.

NFL Head Coach play editor, I'll live without.

Yeah its nothing major like a different in framerate and the occasional drops one has over the other. Still sounds like the Ps3 version is for me.

However this play import/creator does sound interesting. I might have to look at getting the PsP version.

Glad that there's less differences between the two systems this year so we don't have to see the countless threads of "Which version is better?".

i was hoping the frame rates would be the same this year, but other than that, it didnt matter to me anyways.

With no NJPapi here we don't have to hear about how great he is at the game and the 360 version is superior because it looks better in 1080P.

Though both ship with the same amount of memory (512 MB), the XMB eats up a little bit more than the 360 blade stuff. Since all PS3's are also guaranteed to have a hard drive (unlike 360), we stream the replay data straight to the PS3 hard drive as the play is being run instead of streaming it to memory (like we do on 360). Unfortunately, writing 60 frames per second to the hard drive in realtime is a performance hit and will end up causing hitching and gameplay framerate loss, so sometimes we have to skip a frame or two (depending on what is happening on screen and how long the replay is) to ensure we don't screw up the normal gameplay experience. Since the replay buffer on the hard drive now has less frames, it has less fidelity when you play it back.
Figured I'd throw that up there. Little illustration in the different architecture.
