PS3 NCAA 10 Named Rosters Project

Well, I wasn't gonna do the rosters that are on the disc cause those are bad, so I don't really see a point to naming those, but do the ones that EA puts in the locker....

The problem is, I don't actually know college football that well lol, so I wouldn't be a prime candidate for really fixing the rosters.

I just felt like naming the rosters myself (I knew other people would be as well) just to not have to count on someone else. I dunno...

I know we aren't naming the default ones, its just not every roster is perfect every year so I like to join projects to get a good base. I guess what I am asking is do I have your permission to make small changes such as switching guys around that aren't on the team anymore into other key players.

I mean I kind of just wanted to try to do them as fast as possible. I think we do what Houtz said, and just do names first, and then after we can perfect them.

And how will we go about passing it? I guess we could always use the Locker Room. I say once we get the names done and everyone is happy maybe we could perfect it.

I think most people just want a roster where #15 is Tim Tebow and so fourth. I don't think they care if he is missing an arm band or he's not from the same hometown.

If we feel the need to go back and perfect it so be it. Otherwise, just giving the player's their proper names should be more then fine.

I honestly don't know. This will be the first time I do this. I'll be giving updates on my/our progress as I/we go though. But it will literally be as fast as possible.

Shouldn't take longer then a week IMO. When I get the roster I could easily bump out three or four conferences. I don't see it being that incredibly tedius.

Yeah I think it should be a week at the most.


Ok, I think the group that we have now should be good. Like I said before, I don't want to have lots of people doing a few teams cause that'll just slow us down. And not everyone that said they'd help might get a chance to.

LOL. Why is a USB keyboard necessary? Keyboard or not it will still be cake to edit three or four conferences in a day or two.

I've been out of the NCAA loop for a few years but didn't they have some "locker" feature last year that let you download the names rosters?

that feature is that people can upload there own roster file into the "Locker" where anyone can then download it, someone still has to name the rosters ;)

You could probably do this pretty fast if you go about it the right way.

The fastest way that I can think of is to get about 10 people including yourself. Don't say, "Hey we need you to do this conference", just go on and try and do as many teams as you can, then when you gotta go, find out who's on and pass it on to them. Rinse and repeat.

That's the plan I was trying to describe lol, I just knew some people might prefer doing a specific conference, and I only wanted people that would do at least one conference.

I get that some people want a basic named roster but there will be a basic named roster on day 1 made by Countryboy at OS. If we stuck to just names it would be the exact same file.

Wait day 1? Does that mean that the good roster file is already in the Locker?

This is what Countryboy said at OS:

If the rosters are available prior to release day, I should have PS3 default rosters up and running by release day.

If the rosters aren't in the EA Locker until launch day, then I should have them up and ready within a week.

And from what I've heard they won't be in the locker until release day, so we're in the same situation. And I wanted to do them anyway so, yeah...
