Could not agree more, I mean windsocks and season showdown can only go so far. The nerve they have to improve the presentation in RtG and not Dynasty mode is sickening. At least we know what there going to do next year....

Yea man, your views are shared by many. Although i recentlu found out from a poll here that NCAA 09 was very well like by more than I thought. I liked it, and Im sure ill like 10 a little more. But just because i like it doesnt mean its not broken. With 10, we dont know yet. But hopefully, they hear the community and their pleas. The game could still use some work, but i still feel sales will dictate what happens with NCAA. -
Originally posted by BORN4CORNThanks, and yea I posted on OS a lot... but just joined VSN today actually.. Boucher actually introduced me to this site.. its nice.
And the worst thing about NCAA is lack of direction.. What is their priority? Gameplay - obviously not. Presentation - What a joke... (An NCAA Dev. Russ K. actually responded with New Band Formations when I asked what they really did for presentation. Dynasty - Colored menus???? Thanks Ben Haumiller for all your hard work.
They truly are clueless.Comment

They only got 22 bands into the game too which is even sadder. The other 98 schools will have generic formations. What was the point of even putting that feature in if you couldn't even get 50 schools in the game. NCAA really just fucked the pooch this year, I really hope this is rock bottom.

Took me about 4 hours to read but that's some solid stuff and I'm right with you in what you're saying. It's getting really frustrating to spend 60 bucks then spend the year trying not to notice the bad parts of the game. That said, I'll still be playing it this year but I'm not sure how long my excitement level will last for the series without some serious adjustments.I give rep not thanks

NCAA is going to stink because their designers do not understand football. At all.
They know the rules, formations, plays and so forth. But they don't understand the game. They can describe things, but they don't understand what they are supposed to do or why they are the way the are.
It's more than the technical stuff that myself, LBz, Adem and others go into. That stuff is nuanced and details that aren't always completely necessary (though, they would be great). They don't even understand the concepts.
Their perception of football is given by color commentators and ESPN shows. Ideas such as gap control and run run fits are not even on their radar. They don't understand blocking systems (What the blocking is supposed to accomplish). They don't understand passing concepts (spacing, coverage manipulation). They don't understand zone coverage.
I used to just credit these flaws because it's a video game. After they "fixed" pursuit angles I realize that they don't understand. Pursuit angles this year will be fixed (hopefully because the AI won't play stupid and stop running) but they won't be correct. There's a long post about this on OS (Defense will still be broken).
Some things will be broken because it's a video game and some things just can't be taught to the computer. That's fine.
Ian atleast understand the flaws, even if he can't/hasn't been able to completely fix them. One of the obvious example is pass speed. He realized that we can't have realistic pass defense if the ball is moving insanely fast. Procedural awareness will have a similar effect. Defenders can't play a pass they can't see.Comment

I feel the same way you do. Too much gimmicks and not enough substance pretty much sums up what the NCAA Franchise has become. And now Madden seems to be the "all-play" game of the summer. I'm disappointed in what the franchise has become but at least it's bowing out to a superior product now. Madden finally caught and surpassed NCAA.
Usher in the next "hot" developer and let's get back to the drawing boards. Until then I'm playing NCAA 9.5.25-02, 23:16 Yawkey Way celtics fucking suckComment

I know this game isnt going to be great, but I'm still getting it. I love the NCAA series because it's fun to play. It's also something to get me through untill Madden. Last year I bought the game and was going to ply Dynasty mode like always. But I havent even played Dynasty mode yet. I played the shit out of OD, and the Career mode.
I'm sure I'll like this game. I'm not one to nit pick about all the features. Even if the gameplay is like 09, Im still liking the game.Comment
