-Futbol Vocab-
Pitch = The field.
Stoppage Time = Time Added to the end of a half.
-Formations-
Futbol consists of multiple formations, but they are based around 3 premises. Attacking, Defending and Neutral. Usually these formations are based upon the players out on the pitch. The Default formation would be a 4-4-2, which consists of 4 defenders, 4 midfielders and 2 strikers. But considering there are around 20 different formations, you can switch and swap to you find the one that best suits your team.
-Cards (Yellow and Red)-
Most everyone can guess how cards work. You get a red card and you are out of the game. No one can come replace you. Your team goes from 11 men to 10 men. Unlike the NBA or MLB where someone will be subbed in for you. If you get ejected no one can be subbed in your position.
2 (yellow) = 1 (red)
-Corner kicks/Throw Ins-
Corner -Another obvious one; If the opposing team touches the ball last before it goes out (goal side) then the ball is placed on the closes corner.
Throw in -If the opposing team touches the ball last before it goes out (side lines) then the ball is thrown in from where it went out.
-Stoppage Time-
95% of games will have stoppage time. Basically throughout the game the ref totals up all the time that is used for free kicks, injuries, corners, etc.. then he takes that time and adds it onto the end of the game or half. So even though a half lasts 45 minutes it is never over till the ref blows the whistle.
-Rosters-
Fifa makes it really easy for you to sub in. Every position has a color. So when you sub out a Striker (Blue), you can easily sub another blue in without having to guess what position he plays because of the colors.
Goal Keepers - Orange
Defenders - Yellow
Midfielder - Green
Strikers - Blue
