This Steve Noah guy does some good stuff.

They are. Josh needs to rebuild the stat gen engine next year. The tools he has to tweak it suck.

But, I won't complain if the rest of franchise mode is fun and realistic. Yeah, rushing stats need to be fixed (or maybe it was just an odd season, or an early build of the game), but if player progression works and all that, then I'll be more than pleased.
No, as I said, the rushing touchdowns are too low. I don't know if only 8 for AP is going to be a regular occurrence, but he told me straight out he couldn't fix it.

The sim engine run a simulated game in the background... plays are chosen based on the team's profile. He can tweak certain aspects of it, but for some reason, players just don't seem to get into the endzone on goalline runs very often. Of those 8, I'd bet 6 or 7 of them were 5+ yard runs. It's a weakness in the sim engine. Rather than tweak it this year, they made it as serviceable as they could as-is, and are apparently going to rebuild it using SuperSim next year (SuperSim is a much more dynamic, in depth, and controllable sim engine... I'm not sure if it's more accurate this year than the basic sim engine, but I'm pretty sure Josh implied it'd be the basis of next years sim engine because he wasn't happy with how little he was able to work with in the old one.).

Exactly. I'd much rather see AD get 8 TDs one season then 28 TDs or something wild like that.

Awesome info. Sounds like good news for Madden 11.

Same with Big Ben, I was confused as hell when he kept talking about "B.Roth"

                  Good article though.

He probably wasn't sure of the spelling. And spell check wont have a correction for it if it were wrong. So it was easier to abbreviate.

Biggest thing for me here was the stat engine...overall, I like what I see.

Rushing touchdowns are an issue, but that's already been touched upon. Nothing we can do about that.

Aside from that, the biggest issue seems to be the tackles...but they're not wildly out of control, just a little high. Same goes for QB rating.

Overall, I'm pleased...however, I do wonder if we could see more realistic results in the rushing touchdowns area if every game is super-simmed? I'd be willing to go the extra mile for that.

The news about free agents only signing with teams that match their highest interest points is exciting...it should certainly make the off season more interesting.

I'd like to hear more about contract negotiations with the players...how does this system work in Madden 10?

I'd also like to see some progression examples after simming a few years.

Can't wait to play this damn game, especially after NCAA was a massive disappointment.

Assisted tackles, niiice. Now they need to get the assisted sacks stat in as well. Looking good though.

I wonder if the assisted tackles have something to do with high number of tackles.

Still no way to do formation subs, which was a staple of last gen.

                            OK, that's fucking stupid.
